Dh doesn't know what I've got for the children for xmas, won't know until they open them.He doesn't know where dd goes every night,'cos I do all the lifts(ie dance ,music ,kickboxing class. He's too tired .He seems to go into a trance when home, plays with ds ,eats dinner ,then goes to bed.He goes really early because he has to get up so early.Sometimes it feels like he's a guest.
I may be expecting too much here.Does yours get involved in the day to day running of the house?
He was shocked last night when I said he should wrap his nieces present ffs.

Think I may be due on??

zookeeper, irritated sarcasm does not help your argument. I think DW gets a good feel for what it's like over the summer holidays, and I did on a day-to-day basis when I did my two days a week. I'm sure it's not the same as doing it all the time, but the standpoint from which we can speak is at least slightly more informed than those who have either a) never worked while using childcare or b) never done stay-at-home.

surely it also depends on what sort of job you do as to whether you would find staying at home easier or more stressful. i know i'm looking forward to returning to work part time to give myself a break and do something for myself. however, i changed jobs shortly before starting my family to something far less stressful than my last job. my last job would not have been a break, my new one is.

UnquietDad · 09/12/2006 21:06

sure, i agree with that.

zookeeper · 09/12/2006 21:09

unquietdad, I think it was the "piss easy" comment wot did it.The point that I am (clumsily) making is that it would be if you were caring for them two days a week.

Was going to answer the opening question !

yes i do get pi$$ed off, if you knew how little my dh did you would say leave! but hey, i have an occasional baby sitter

SecondhandRose · 10/12/2006 09:09

Mine doesn't do anything except the bins without me asking. He cannot seem to see that anything needs to be done at all.

aliceband · 10/12/2006 09:11

ooh , i have remembered um 2 things, open the attic for me, i will do the rest,... and fix the bikes! yeh, we have a bike fixer in the house.
reason number 2.
