How would you take his silence?

So have been seeing a guy for a couple of months now, seems to be this huge connection, and he seems and tell me how much he likes me, talks about future, sets dates in advanced etc but things seem great for a week or so then he seems to go cold and pretty much ignore me for a week (except for minimum polite contact) then he comes back all great again

This has been confusing me greatly so today I sent a text that was perfectly polite and to the point basically saying that I'm confused because you say that you like me slot and that we have a future yet you regularly go cold on me, I told him I like him a lot and if he doesn't feel the same that's fine but I just need him to be straight with me!!

And guess what he hadn't replied!!!! So I'm guessing I have my answer, surly if that wasn't the case you would be keen to set the record straight.

Well I got a text this morning asking when I'm free as we need a chat.

Left it a few hours and have just texted back with day/time I'm free!

Not sure what to make if it, surely it would of just been easier to set me straight over text

Oh no, a chat? He's going to dump you, isn't he? Do you really want to meet up with him anyway?

Seeyounearertime · 03/11/2015 15:11

I'd have replied,
"Who is this?"
And then ignored every text or phone call after that.

I would get in first and say "No point in meeting, I have decided this is not working for me"

Or what See said

Haha should of came here first for advice before I texted!!

Oh well least I will know one way or another what the score is and what is actually going on! Least then I can put it behind me without wondering!

Feeling quite sick

When did you arrange the chat for?

ILiveAtTheBeach · 03/11/2015 22:49

It shouldn't be this hard. So, he's going for days without texting you back?! Pfft, I wouldn't stand for that at all. Sounds like he might have another girl on the go. Sorry.

I hate people who do the "need a chat" thing - to me, that's another form of control: we all know what it means, and by setting you on edge, it's further cruelty imo.

In all honesty - his behaviour is someone who's after a shag, and F2F he says what he needs to keep you sweet. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but if you want to make time to send a quick text/email, you can: soldiers can send messages from war zones, ffs!
