Feelins sad for BIL

I'm sad because no one in his family has made an effort at all to celebrate his 21st birthday, today.

I thought his birthday was on the 29th but in a rare instance of organisation I already had his card and present so DP went to the pub with him but DP is working tonight so no wild partying.

But his mum has done nothing. Neither have his grandparents.

I'm swinging between and at the moment and just wanted to vent on here before DP gets home so I don't blurt out all the things I think of his mother to him.

DP's family treat BIL really shoddily and DP always tries to be the one who does the right thing and takes responsibility for the stuff his mum should be doing, so I know he'll be feeling like shit when he gets home, thinking he's let his brother down. And if I say anything he'll feel like he has to defend his mum even though he knows she's been out of order.

Poor BIL.

Could you invite him round at the weekend and throw him a bit of a party, or cook him a celebration meal?

I'm going to do a tea party tomorrow with the kids and we can sing Happy Birthday and have a cake

Will try to get a babysitter so we can go out at the weekend with him

Just can't believe she did nothing !

At least you and your family are making him feel special.
