Online dating - nostril picture anyone!?!

I recently joined an online dating site & my god what is wrong with the men?? The profile pictures range from 'oh dear' to 'my God man what were you thinking'. Lots of the pictures are selfies taken from below giving a wonderful view directly up their nostrils, others are slumped in a messy room looking unwashed!!

Seriously, it is so depressing that this is the selection of my age range (40-50). I tried POF a few weeks ago but had to leave due to the poor selection.

I don't really want a fat, balding, beer swigging loser. Maybe OD isn't for me & a trip to Ann Summers is needed .

I have read some stories on here of people that have successfully met someone via OD but it seems to be like search for a needle in a haystack.

I've recently joined Match and viewing the 'daily six' has become of the highlights of my day. I think they gather up the people who aren't getting any views and have awful photos and send them out in batches.

I have seen several that don't even show a full face but are cut off below the eyes for example!

I went back on after 2 years - and the same men are there from my area. Proof that it generally does not work. You cannot beat face to face contact at first sight

The Match Daily 6 really pees me off. They must do it by very loose regional area. I live somewhere that is on the other edge of a county that sometimes is included as "East". It means i get sent the daily 6 who often live well over 100 miles away and are obvs nothing like local.

I think it's slightly unfair to be upset with men over 50 being bald it's hardly their fault. Around 60% of men by age 60 will be suffering from hair loss. I think it is harsh to judge men for something beyond their control.

My 50 year old tee total brother is tall and very slim, but has a big belly which despite giving up bread, will not shift.

I particularly like those Wedding ones, where it was the last time they scrubbed up in a suit, but had to cut the photo in half because they have an arm round their girlfriend/wife/or future wife in her wedding dress.

LOL! When I was online dating I used to get really irritated with group photos. How are we supposed to know which one is the one advertising themselves?! Surely it's not hard to crop the photo or blank the faces of the others? At least it used to weed out those who are a bit thoughtless and stupid which was a positive I suppose.

Were the profiles active though? I think a lot of people set up profiles, use them for a bit, then give up but don't delete or hide them.

I went onto OLD not really looking with any great intention - and who do I see there - my ex, who I chucked out when I found out he was having an affair!! Clearly that didn't work out then!! oh and the best of it was, he messaged me (not knowing it was me of course as no pic and I'd made a profile with a few white lies in it...ie strategically placed tattoo whereas I have none, that sort of thing). He even paid to subscribe so that I could read his messages. I never went back again. Creepy.

when i was online dating, i was really struck by the amount of "up the nose profile pictures" so beloved of males.
very off-putting.
yet there they are - still waiting for their big boobed 18 year old supermodel to fall face first onto their erect cocks.

i agree about bald men.

those who say they only date men with hair and refuse to date baldies -
remember then that this gives men the right to say they only date women with big boobs and/or big nipples.

Wally, it is worth signing up for the amusement factor, assuming your skin is thick enough. Today's daily six from match has included a bloke sitting at the wheel of what looks like a mini bus in a high vis jacket and another one who has taken a photograph of himself in a mirror so far away he is just a figure in the distance.

Its also amazing how many men take their picture in public toilet, like in the gents at their local. Maybe because the lighting is good in there?
