Does anyone know how you go about getting councelling?

You need to get referred by your GP

Although if you can afford it you can expect to pay 30-40 GBP per hour. I just did a search on Yell in my local area and picked one I liked the sound of. Turned out I struck gold but you could also go through the British Association of Psychotherapists if you want to be sure you are getting someone well qualified and reputable.

Sorry, meant to say if you can afford to go private. The only problem with the NHS is there may be a waiting list and also I think you only get a finite number of sessions.

I was refered for councelling last year by my GP. Had to wait approx 5 months and then had 6 hour long sessions over about 8 weeks. I found it very helpful but could possibly have done with more sessions, it came to quite an abrupt end and I'm not sure how I go about continuing at some point.
