'She's going in the spank bank.' After DH's friend said he was going on a date with a woman and showed DH a photo of her?

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

I never thought it meant that!

I would be so upset if dh had said that or even thought that

SakuraSakura · 05/07/2015 20:43

Disgusted. Sorry op Thanks

It's pretty immature and vulgar. I'd expect a man who's married with a child to have grown out of this sort of thing.

I mean yes, encourage your mate for his date, but something like "Wow, she looks hot, nice one mate!" is surely more appropriate than basically saying "Woooaaargggh, I'll be wanking over that later!"

It's all a bit Sun reader, isn't it?

I'd be furious. However people do just joke, my friend showed me a pic of her bf with his top off and I joked that he can be the stripper for my hen do. I don't fancy her bf and I would hate a stripper!

Whathaveilost · 05/07/2015 21:23

I would be startled and thin DH had a personality transplant if those words came out f DHs mouth.

He doesn't do crude or vulgar and cringes when others do ( including me!)

BuggersMuddle · 05/07/2015 21:24

Bit juvenile and not very respectful. DP would not talk in this way. Gadz.

Sadly I do know plenty of people who talked like this in their teens. The ones who did it 'to be cool' or 'to fit in' have mainly grown up. The ones who were always the ringleaders with the crude and crass comments are still at it and we're all in our mid-30s.

Spanking the monkey, spank bank or whatnot seems a bit 90s lad culture for a young guy.

Strachy · 05/07/2015 21:32

I would be upset if my DP said this, but he would never say it. He has a pretty juvenile sense of humour at times, and says things some people might be offended by, but he would never say this, because it would be disrespectful - to me and to the woman in question - and while his sense of humour might be occasionally juvenile, he is not.

I'd say, "Yay, so is he!" and show him a picture of Brad Pitt shirtless, then add, "I'll be gone for a while." Go upstairs, use my vibrator happily, not care if he knew it, and then not have sex with him for a while. And if he complains, tell him he's got his spank bank.

It's fine to find other people attractive, we all do, it's normal. We're married, not dead. But you don't overtly slobber over someone when your other half is there in the room because it's rude, unkind, selfish and stupid.

The exception is when Howard Keel is on screen and then you can sigh a little and say, "Aaah." That's the only exception, though.
