DH and my operation

I've got a lump (the docs do not think it's cancer at all - just something minor). It's been on the cards for a while. They need to check what's going on. Fine. They need to do a GA. Bit scary, but fine. My letter came through today with op date. DH starts talking about DM dropping me off and collecting me and looking after me day after.

Am I awful to think that this is a bit piss poor? Why wouldn't he take me?! When I asked him, he said he'd not thought and that he'd get docked two days' pay if he were to come.

Obviously, I gave him the "WTAF SERIOUSLY ARE YOU KIDDING ME OMG" treatment, but… what the hell was that? Should he not assume he'd come? Is this weird, or am I high maintenance? IDEK anymore.

Whenever I've had surgery in daycase or shortstay units (and it's been often) they don't let DH in past the waiting room. This is becuase they keep males and females seperate as you're changed into a gown and dressing gown and are sat waiting, having checks etc done. DH is called when I'm ready to come home and the nurse escorts me back out to the waiting room.

A month ago (not daycase) I went down to theatre at 10am and came back to the ward at 5pm. DH went to his mum's and got back to the hospital around 4:30. There was nothing he could do if he had have been allowed to wait there, which he wasn't.

He should have asked you if you wanted him to go.

It's off that he is already enrolling your mother without asking you or her.

Not high maintenance at all. I bet he'd want you to go and pick up if it was him having the GA.

Bit off. Last time DW was in for a minor I dozed quivered in the waiting room. If the anaesthetist cocked up, I could give her the last kiss before she got down to room temperature.
