she's a brilliant friend, has helped out with ds quite regularly (babysitting and the like) since he was born, and has been so supportive in general. I wanted to buy her a big pressie to say thanks, but I stupidly asked her what she'd like rather than doing it as a surprise...she was genuinely not into this idea, saying she didn't want presents etc...she wasn't just being coy, I got the impression she really meant it.

So instead I thought I might set aside one saturday for us both to go somewhere on a girly day out for which I would pay...come on all you creative MNers, gimme loads of ideas for fantastic days we could have!! tia...

Yeah, christmas shopping with several drinks during the trip... York is lovely at christmas.

Or what about a relaxing day at a local spa/beauty place.?? Nail, massage, swim, jacuzzi etc..

ssu,you are thoughtful btw.

ooh my goodness, you've started me with some lovely ideas! I love bath, and york, though we are darn sarf so that may be a little far for our day out...bath is a fab idea though, I am definitely liking that, as I know my friend has been on a few occasions and loved it.

Wasn't expecting such a corkingly suitable idea straight off, thanks for that!

thanks steppy and shhh!

A day at the Sanctuary in Covent Garden, if you are able to get into London?

sunnysideup · 08/11/2006 10:13

thanks for the replies guys....I think I am decided on Bath; I also love Brighton but that's not far at all from us so I think Bath is just going to be that bit more special on this occasion.

London I think I've decided against, though ta for the idea. I luuuuurve the sound of the sanctuary meself but I think shopping and coffee and cake will be what she's after
