Facebook feed of new guy. Thoughts?

Just wondering what others would make of this:

Been with new guy for 5 months. Went to his place to watch something with his family. During a break, he was scrolling through his FB. Pic after pic after pic was semi naked models, bikini models, 'fitness' models etc. Semi-clad boobs and asses galore. They would have made up 9 out of 10 of the posts on his feed.

Would this bother you?

OP posts:
Lailoo · 03/05/2015 11:29

You went and watched TV with his family? Who are his family? He is 45.

Trills · 03/05/2015 11:43

That definitely doesn't sound like the Facebook feed of someone I woudl want to be with..

SwedishEdith · 03/05/2015 11:48

Sounds like a sarcastic response. But, that you can end it so easily (which is a good thing!) after 5 months suggests you might have been not too involved/close anyway?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/05/2015 11:50

I'd be worried if someone judged me by my news feed. My friends post stuff I never would. I think you are overreacting a bit.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/05/2015 11:51

but doesn't sound like he is the man for you.

OneEyedWilly · 03/05/2015 11:52

Ew. Yes that would definitely bother me.

GrumpleMe · 03/05/2015 12:00

Lailoo - with his parents/uncle/kids. It was a sport event on TV that we were all interested in.

SwedishEdith - you might be right there. I was taking things slowly. Mind you, he's not exactly making it hard to detach now.

OP posts:

July
Finding it naff and unattractive is not an overreaction, but calling the man a 'twat' and urging the OP to lbt without any further information is, in my opinion, slightly hysterical.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 03/05/2015 19:01

Oh yes calling a man a twat really is a sign that a womans emotions are "slightly" out of control.

Zucker · 03/05/2015 19:11

Right up until your post with his text this morning I was erring on the side of, ah sure it's only facebook and a lot of people have a lot of shite on their feed.

BUT that text to you this morning confirms he's an arse. Bad bad OP for trying to ruin his "fun". He's trying to put you in the no fun brigade whereas he's Mr. sad wanker Fun Guy.

Ignore him OP, your bullshit radar is working well.

jonicomelately · 03/05/2015 19:17

I think it is JohnFarleysRuskin

LineRunner · 03/05/2015 19:23

45 years old. Oh dear God. And the joke about the Buddhist retreat. Oh ha ha fucking ha.

Bullet dodged.

JulyKit · 03/05/2015 19:25

joni I think 'LTB' is now used in a kind of tongue in cheek way on MN. (Perhaps it should be followed by just to avoid confusion. )
... which is not to say that 'LTB' isn't in fact intended as advice to OP to fuck him off...

Similarly, I believe that use of the word 'twat' is now somewhat common currency for MNers, rather than an indication of genuine, heartfelt pearl-clutching.

jonicomelately · 03/05/2015 19:33

Fair comment July but I think posters deserve something a little more nuanced in terms of advice than 'he's obviously a twat' and Ltb.

Just my opinion.

JulyKit · 03/05/2015 19:41

Fair comment also joni Smile

However, the only information that we have about 'new guy' does indicate that he's a bit of a tosser, no?

jonicomelately · 03/05/2015 19:48

It's an indication i suppose but I wouldn't judge somebody on one aspect of their personality, unless of course it's illegal or completely immortral which I don't think this is. that's the point I was trying to make Smile

CalleighDoodle · 03/05/2015 19:53

And now im wondering whats on jonis newsfeed...

JohnFarleysRuskin · 03/05/2015 20:00

Yet you judge people with different opinions to you as slightly hysterical, funny that, Joni.

jonicomelately · 03/05/2015 20:00

I'm not on Facebook. Don't have the time or the inclination Smile

jonicomelately · 03/05/2015 20:02

I'm commenting on their responses, not calling them twats JohnFarkeysRuskin

JulyKit · 03/05/2015 20:05

Question: Would you rather be described as 'slightly hysterical' (or have your opinions described as such), or be described as 'a bit of twat'?

Worth a quick straw poll/thread?

JohnFarleysRuskin · 03/05/2015 20:07

Ok, it's 'slightly' hysterical to call a man a twat. Got it now.

jonicomelately · 03/05/2015 20:11

It's interesting how cross some people get about a dissenting viewpoint.

JulyKit · 03/05/2015 20:11

Ok, it's 'slightly' hysterical to call a man a twat. Got it now.

Please don't imagine that you got that from me, John.

I wrote that post because I really don't think it's any less 'extreme' or potentially offensive to describe someone's opinions as 'slightly hysterical' than it is to call them a twat.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 03/05/2015 20:16

I didn't July!

So people were slightly hysterical, now they are also cross. Okay.
