Hello I'm just after some advice really. Just found out my pig of an ex has shown his friends pictures of my privates after giving birth. I begged him to delete them but he wouldn't. Is there anything that can be done?? Thanks

The October 2014 amendment to the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 created a specific offence of distributing a private sexual image of someone without their consent and with the intention of causing them distress (commonly called "revenge porn"). The maximum custodial sentence is two years.

However, I think it depends on HOW your ex showed the images to his friends. The Act specifically refers to distributing (including uploading to online media). It is worth ringing the police to check it out.

Take him to court. It's a disgusting thing to do.

OP - even if there was nothing the police could really follow up, I would think the best way to get the scumbag deleting every possible hiding place for that pic as quickly as possible, and to ensure he NEVER even thought of doing this again would be to coolly email him details of the Amendment quoted above, and say that you thought it was best he knew that you were following this up with the police, with the message sent to you by his friend as proof. Oh, and make sure you include the bit about maximum sentence being two years. He'll be clearing his computer faster than he fills his pants.
