What would you spend it on????

My lovely DH gave me £100 and told me to spend it on a) something I want not something I need and b) not to just put it in my purse and dwindle it on paying for little bits of things here and there.

Bit of back story- we live comfortably. I am a SAHM, DH works full time. 2 little ones. They have everything they both need and want. We can afford to buy whatever we need within reason. We're by rolling it it my any means- we have o save to go on holiday or for a big purchase but we don't have to stress about money. Own our own home etc.

That said I would never have £100 to just go and spend on me! he says nothin practical- I immediately thought of new nursing bras! As that would be something we would just buy cos it was needed.

So what you all of you do with it???

Just a little wondering post really- incase anyone thinks I'm in a quandary as to what to do! I'm not! I'll go shopping and have not much trouble finding stuff probably! I was just wondering what everyone else would go for!

I had I would always discuss with my OH (and he me) before spending £1,200 (figure quoted by PP) on something

I quoted that figure. Smile

I don't see why I should have to discuss it. We have equal amounts to spend, he spent his over a period of months, I didn't. He has an expensive car (to buy and run) and I have an old banger that's cheap on fuel and insurance. He has 3/4 of the wardrobe. I don't see why he should need to justify his monthly spending pattern any more than I should have to try to calculate how much extra he spends on average each month until I can afford my qualifications.

We are very different people, our arrangement is fair and caters for this so we never argue about money.

We have family savings too.

I recommend it Smile

Joys it sounds like you're in quite a good position financially if you have family savings too. We are in a less good position at the moment which is why we would discuss all purchases. Everyone's circumstances are different.

OH ever knows what to buy me.

This year for my birthday I chose about £100 worth of essential oils. I love them, use them lots and he gets a share when he gets a nice massage.

Last year I got a load of neals yard products. Love natural things with no additives.

Or I might ask him for some nice crystals.

For valentines he bought me some lovely perfume which I might not have bought myself.

He's definitely a keeper.

Kindlefire's were down to £100 recently. He got me one for Christmas. Love it. Even though I have an iPad.

Would you fancy something like that.

Tilliebob

Ortak takes me back a bit;-)

I have some ortak earrings that you've reminded me I must put on eBay .

Was so sad when they closed the shop in York! It's a phoneshop now for goodness sake. Waste of a lovely ancient building.

My son gave me £100 a few years ago and from ortak I bought some rennie mackintosh mirrors.
