Can this email to my DHs account from Jennifer @ gmx.com just be a scam or something more?

CurlyWurlyCake · 11/11/2014 22:09

DH left his work email account open on the joint iPad. I glanced at it and there was an email from Jennifer.

It read: I have some more topless pictures for you, would you like to talk about it. Then signed off as ytmmhgy.

The email address is something like [email protected]

Can this just be a scam email, to his large corporate company email? Where would they get his email address from?

He deleted the email from his phone and it's now in his trash. He hasn't mentioned it which makes me think it's not the first time. If I received something like that I would tell him in a OMG you will never guess the email I have just received Shock way.

I get millions of em. Even to my work address.

Like Renee who sends me a message ever day saying. Why don't you message me anymore, you haven't seen my tits in forever...

Anyone looking at it would think I knew her!

CurlyWurlyCake · 11/11/2014 23:13

I'm just an old suspicious bastard who spends too much time reading MN and I didn't realise these types of spam were a regular occurrence seeing as I have never received one myself.

Another vote for spam! Mine go into my junk folder, every now and then I give it a clear out. About 20 a day offering all sorts of gambling, loans, viagra, porn, and ghd straighteners for 20 euros (tempting...)

Icantwaituntilxmas · 11/11/2014 23:19

Oh yes sorry - it is a legit address, but a lot of spam emails do seem to come from gmx addresses. Smile

YellowTulips · 11/11/2014 23:19

Another vote for spam.

We have a spam filter at work and you get a daily email to tell you all the mail trapped in it - to allow you manually approve anything that may have been legit.

Every day I get at least 50+ spam emails - from trying to sell me Viagra, penis enlargement, hot pussy, hot dates, hot virtual dates, tits, tits and more tits....

It's a PITA to read through the bloody list to check if the filter caught an email I was supposed to get (happens occasionally) but a lot better than getting them in my inbox Grin

TheWickerWoman · 11/11/2014 23:22

I get these all the time to my work email.. The same woman's name offering to show me her backside.. Often accompanied by an attachment with a virus on it. Don't worry about it, it's definitely spam.

Joysmum · 11/11/2014 23:22

Unusual to get a unanimous verdict. That's got to be a relief Grin

WhereYouLeftIt · 11/11/2014 23:22

DH mostly gets offers of money from Nigeria, I mostly get offer of 'meds from Canada' (Viagra, in other words) and yes, I've had a few offers of penis extensions and porn topless photos.

Although the latest was apparently from Winnie Mandela, subject line 'how are you my love' Grin. I'm assuming it probably came from Nigeria ...

CurlyWurlyCake · 11/11/2014 23:27

Yes joysmum I'm tempted not to look again incase some one comes along against the grain Smile

It's spam, probably not mentioned it as these emails are so common. If he has been chatting to women online he would be pretty stupid to use his work address though.

Fluffyears · 11/11/2014 23:35

Spam, we get them at work too. Our addresses are on the website so that's how they get them. Ignore

Iamyourmil · 11/11/2014 23:36

I'm a woman and I keep getting emails like that. Spam.

stealthsquiggle · 11/11/2014 23:37

Definitely spam. We get it even in large corporate with the security you would expect. Not worth mentioning.

giraffescantboogie · 11/11/2014 23:39

I get shit like that daily

magoria · 11/11/2014 23:41

I am always getting spam to enlarge my penis, Viagra to last longer and some bimbo called Adriana who I apparently know who is now single, moving to my area and wants to hook up and here are some pictures of her to go see.

She has been emailing me a few years and I still don't remember her Grin

NetballHoop · 11/11/2014 23:46

It is spam. Ignore it. Jennifer is a 5'2 tall hairy Russian with a vodka dependence problem and rotten teeth.

I may be wrong, but I don't think "she" is going to steal your DH.

Tobyjugg · 11/11/2014 23:46

It's spam.

Wantsunshine · 11/11/2014 23:48

Magoria I think Adrianna is up to no good. I have been getting emails from her for years too! Moving to my area, my arse and matter how many times she offers I don't want to see her arse either! Why does the internet think I am a man with a small penis with erectile disfunction problems?! Bloody spam

CurlyWurlyCake · 11/11/2014 23:48

I'm now starting to think there is something wrong with me. Why doesn't anyone send me these emails Grin

On a serious note, thank you for reassuring me Thanks

CurlyWurlyCake

I am 18 year old Polish girl with bad boyfriend who does not loves me. All I long for is man like you to show my love to. Call me on 098759754 0112 0123 so I can let you know how much I need a sexy man like you.

OnGoldenPond · 11/11/2014 23:54

I get hundreds of of invitations to increase the size of my manhood or converse with Russian beauties every day on my work email.

I have neither man parts nor any history of contacting nubile young Russian ladies.

I delete them all immediately and never give them a second thought.

omri · 11/11/2014 23:55

I get about 3 of these sexy/Viagra/dodgy spam emails a day to my work email (large professional corporation). So does all my team. We complain to IT every couple minutes f months but they always seem to get through the filters. I definitely would not worry about it ... Hope that reassures you !

CurlyWurlyCake · 12/11/2014 00:05

Dear netball

Thank you for taking the time to email me. I have considered your offer and have decided to remain naive and ignored for now and for ever.

I wish you lots of success and happiness.

Kind regards

Freaked out.

You all need to talk to your IT depts about improving your spam filtersShock

We used to get tonnes of this a day but don't anymore as it gets stopped before it hits our inboxes.

Definitely spam OP Grin

CurlyWurlyCake · 12/11/2014 00:36

Hmm midd we work for the same company.

Why does he get these spam emails but I don't?

In 7 years I have never had anything more than a corporate/management invite spam...
