Recovering from surgery and spending way too much time lurking on here. All these cheating husband threads are naturally making me question if DH could do the same.

I have experience of infidelity as a child of an unfaithful father and have very strong opinions on what the consequences would be should DH ever cheat. He knows this and I have absolutely no interest in checking up on him. If he cheats, he cheats, LTB, move on.

This week I found a random receipt laying around and just checked it was OK to throw it out. It was a water stones receipt for 'a clean break' and for a moment I thought clean break?! I'll give you a clean f*ing break!! He's reading up on how to leave me!

I blame mumsnet for what I did next. I turned detective and did an Amazon search only to find that 'a clean break' is the title of a book about cycling drugs cheating.

It's only the book he's been reading and harping in my ear about and announcing 'fascinating' snippets of information which I really have no interest in.

I blame mumsnet.

NO sense, no. Ya muppet. Still the punishment is harsh - being stuck on MN Grin

I did similar once. I found a piece of paper in DP's car on which was scribbled 'meet me at xx pub.'

I went nuts.

It turns out he'd passed me the note several months earlier.

D'oh.

lol saveme. I'm always doing this with my DH. A nice relief when it turns out to be nothing!

LOL, OP!!

I'm glad some of you understand this thread.

Real life threads would be:

I found a bag in the loft.

  • I've been looking for that everywhere!

I found a secret phone.

  • Then remembered it's my old one.

etc etc.

I don't wear Boden (can't afford it but wouldn't want to wear it anyway) and I don't drink from jam jars (my sis-in-law does though, bizarre) but I do feel a bit Confused at your thread. You checked amazon, nobody made you...blaming MN is kind of making fun of all the women that snoop and find something amiss.

I don't know...just a bit like a piss take

mammadiggingdeep · 19/10/2014 21:02

Unfortunately my real life thread would have been...

Found sine receipts, my worst fears came true, was left a single mum with 2 kids under 2.

Happened 2 years ago, still collecting my life back together.

Like I said...sounds like a piss take

mammadiggingdeep · 19/10/2014 21:03

Sorry, not taking the piss out of those unfortunate enough to have been cheated on. Taking the piss, if you like, of the sensationalist thread titles, which drip feed frankly fascinating narratives that turn out to be fiction.

Yes, stuff happens, but not nearly as often as you'd think. or at least in not such dramatic ways and played out online and in real time like we've seen on here recently.

OP posts:
mammadiggingdeep · 19/10/2014 21:59

Yeah, I get that. I think we all get that some trolls have been telling jackanory.

I'm glad your life is drama free. Not meaning to be boring but I truly hope those who need MN advice don't feel like they won't believed, or indeed, will end up having the piss taken out of them/their threads.

savemefromrickets · 19/10/2014 22:07

What's this jam jar thing? I can understand a straw and a wine bottle, but not a jam jarSmile

Kewcumber · 19/10/2014 22:09

Leave the bastard anyway.

I saw some 'stylised' jam jar glaases with handles in wilkos yesterday. That's just going too far!

Pumpkinification · 19/10/2014 22:38

I have some Boden. Actually, DD does. I spotted it in a charity shop as some fool had clearly shrunk it in the wash...
