It has been done finally

CID went to visit the uncle yesterday.
They told him of the allegations that DH has made against him, BUT uncle and girlfriend fly out to Egypt tonite so they are letting him go away on holiday and he has to go into the police station for questioning on 9th OCT.

AAAARRRGGGHHHHH

Cant believe this after all this time, WHY didnt they go around and arrest him last week?

So, uncle gets straight on phone to FIL and his girlfriend is crying her eyes out saying what the F* is going on why would DH do such a thing, ive never seen him do anything like that to any of my kids.

All the family know now and they have all told DH that they 100% believe him, uncle has told FIL that he is going to move to Ireland.

FIL said to me last night "If it was me who had been accused of this i would be straight down to DH house demanding to know what he was thinking of or at least phoning him, the fact that he hasnt and that he,s already thinking of moving to Ireland are the actions of a guilty man"

Think he,s finally getting it.

So now we have another 2 weeks wait until he is questions, FGS FH told the police back in May what had happened and now they have only just got around to doing something about it.

Let's hope he has a rotten holiday worrying himself sick about coming back.

No, I know that's not the most important issue here, perhaps I am being too flippant, but it was the first thought that came into my head. People who commit such deeds deserve to feel bad.

I am glad the family is behind you, and that FIL is beginning to accept the truth.

I am sorry it has taken so long for them to deal with this delicatematter, but it is good to hear that the police have finally approached him and that he is due to be questioned.
Like anorak I can't help feeling extra pleased that his holiday will have been ruined by the timing. Petty I know
Totally agree that the man's reactions have guilt right through them.

wtf?????? So what about his bloody holiday? What about your dh's whole LIFE??? Is there anyone with an insight to police behaviour? Who's side are they on?

Sorry, delicatematter, I'm sure my shock and fury are no help to you at all, but I think that is just utterly ridiculous.

i must admit that i was shocked when i heard that they are letting him go on his holiday.

DH thinks they might use the excuse to get a warrant to search his PC at home/work.

I dont know, i just dont understand why they arent being quicker as this has been going on since May and he did his video interview in July

i'm not sure if you are the same person delicatematter but i remember reading and posting on a similar thread a while back.

i'm glad about the support of his family for the both of you.

why do the police always seem to drag their feet in things like this?

they might be slow to move because they've got to be absolutely sure in these sorts of cases. a mistake could be very damaging. unfortunately it's the victims that suffer.

DH has been told that uncle has been ringing from abroad where he is on holiday and "crying" down the phone that DH has ruined his holiday.

Tough.

Gee what a shame. He gets a week or two of his holiday ruined after ruining years of your DHs life.

no, i dont think he will not return to the UK, he,s already said he,s putting his house up for sale and moving to Ireland when he comes home.

FIL told me tonight that uncle has asked his sister to get FIL to tell DH to drop the charges against him.

So, he wants the charges dropped, he.s talking of moving to another country, he hasnt spoke to FIL or tried to contact DH, if the boot was on the other foot then im pretty sure that DH would be down at the police station demanding to know what he had been accused of and he would be going round to the persons house who had accused him of the abuse.

I hope he,s shaking in his boots.

By moving away , is he trying to dodge the charges?? does he think he'll get away with it by doing that?
