Hmm welcome to MN, OP.

"girls" ?
how many threads do we get on this very same subject often by first time posters? brings out the cynic in me.

If you're genuine, OP and you're in your late 40's then do what the fuck you want with your pubes.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 21/09/2014 22:08

Just don't shave it all off as it will look like a plucked chicken

AnyFucker · 21/09/2014 22:08

Yes, it's a bit odd to ask "what are the latest fashions with pubes"

You are a grown woman, allegedly, work it out for yourself

RiverTam · 21/09/2014 22:09

you're the one who has to maintain it so you get to choose! I've never had any negative comments for being pretty au naturel, for what it's worth (not that anyone other than DH has seen it for many a year!).

dreamingbohemian · 21/09/2014 22:15

I'm just trying to imagine a scenario where a guy tells his mates: Yeah I really liked her, but her pubes were so 2007.

If you want to seem modern and fashionable, get a new pair of shoes or a haircut.

For personal grooming, just start as you mean to go on.

GlowWithLight · 21/09/2014 22:20

Yeah I really liked her, but her pubes were so 2007. Hahahahahahaa, that just made me spit my tea at the screen.

Oowhachamacallit · 21/09/2014 22:24

Yeah I really liked her, but her pubes were so 2007 Yep thats funny!

I work with lots of guys and they have lots of opinions (not that I asked)

I just wanted some womens opinions thats all. To be honest I wouldnt care what a guy has as long as he is clean, Im very easy going.

I personally trim the length, shave the bikini line and my undercarriage. It goes horribly spotty and itchy if I were to shave the V bit. I used to have it all full grown but I just slowly morphed into this over time. I have no idea what my husband prefers tbh, I think men just like anything. I suspect it's probably nicer sexually for him if there is less hair.

TweedAddict · 21/09/2014 22:28

Trim the length, I think that's more important then the shape. Then as long as it sticking out of your knickers, anything is fine

Oowhachamacallit · 21/09/2014 22:30

pippinleaf You are right - I think any bloke thinks himself lucky to just get a women into bed - hair is probably the last thing on their mind!

itsbetterthanabox · 21/09/2014 22:36

How do you have it now? Why change it?
Why is you being 'trim and fit' relevant? Are people who aren't not allowed to have sex?

itsbetterthanabox · 21/09/2014 22:38

Oow I'm a young person and no one I know removes all their public hair.

Cabrinha · 21/09/2014 22:39

How is trimming your public hair going to make a relationship special?

DanielJack · 21/09/2014 22:41

So the opinion of a man, maybe this will help...

Don't jump to conclusions, amongst my friends there are difference in opinions in what they like. Some like nothing, some a little, some fully grown.

My suggestion is go with what you feel comfortable with and if the relationship blossoms you'll figure it out together.

Mintyy · 21/09/2014 22:42

It really is the number 1 thread topic for first time posters isn't it?

That and hospital bags and fusty washing machines.

Funny reputation Mumsnet must have Grin

Oowhachamacallit · 21/09/2014 22:56

I namechanged for this post. Thank you ‘danieljack* for a mans POV. I only wondered - I didn't mean to come across as anything else than a modern woman who wanted an honest opinion

I hope he is having the same dilemma about how to look after himself too.

wideboy26 · 21/09/2014 23:27

A ladygarden should have a clematis surrounded by a neatly trimmed bush.

differentnameforthis · 21/09/2014 23:28

but what do you think a 40 year old man expects down there??

Who cares. If a new man starts expecting you to look a certain way already, he isn't going to be a good bet, is he?

Do what YOU want!

differentnameforthis · 21/09/2014 23:29

A work colleagur (man) said that anyone under 25 doesn't have anything

he's lying.

maddy68 · 21/09/2014 23:31

I use a husbands beard trimmer trimmed very short , so pretty much shaved but some hair if you. Know what I mean I'm 40+

DuelingFanjo · 21/09/2014 23:32

People actually laser off their pubic hair?

differentnameforthis · 21/09/2014 23:38

I want him to think I am also modern and with fashion Pubic hair has nothing to do with fashion & everything to do with the personal taste of the person who has it.

I didn't mean to come across as anything else than a modern woman You go on about being a modern woman, yet you have to ask strangers how to present yourself to a new man.

Most 'modern' (and what woman isn't modern?) woman know that they should do what they please with their appearance.

itsbetterthanabox · 22/09/2014 00:33

If you are in your forties why do you want to follow teenage trends?
A man in his forties wouldn't be expecting anything in particular. One would hope men of that age to comfortable with pubic hair.

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 22/09/2014 00:36

I've waxed and shaved mine do much that they now grow straight Confused
