your DH is the love of your life? And why/why not?

I know IABU but I find this irritating. Surely the concept of something like "soulmate" requires some degree of absolute.

WaitingForMe · 12/09/2014 17:46

Probably. Although my feelings generally match the lyrics to True Love by Pink.

AnyFucker · 12/09/2014 17:53

It also implies to me some kind of unconditional love for a partner

No matter what they do to you etc

Fuck that

Sickoffrozen · 12/09/2014 17:53

No.

I have had 4 real loves and all were special.

My current DH makes me happy but I am sure that I could find another if this goes tits up. Nothing ever lasts forever in my world!

JohnFarleysRuskin · 12/09/2014 17:54

He's in the top five of loves, definitely.

He's lovely.

NetballHoop · 12/09/2014 18:01

DCs first, then the dog, then DH.

I do expect (hope) that he'll be here once the others have flown the nest though and I wouldn't swap him.

TeaFor6 · 13/09/2014 00:38

He is the one* i've loved most in my life so far, so in that sense he is the love of my life

  • I mean that in the partner sense, not comparible to children or other family members
