new BFs rude friend

Hi.
sorry I post here a lot-only place I get any sense!
long story short.....I have a new SO. was going great 4 a few months and went to meet his friends at a party. They were all intoxicated and I was sober.
One girl in particular who he says is his best friend, wouldn't shake my hand, ignored me then stated I was chubby and a head case.
I don't know why because I was pleasant and everyone else was lovely, and they were clearly embarrassed when it happened. My SO started laughing (he was drunk too), but later told her (in the biggest display of kiss assing and flowery language not to do it again).
its early days and i don't know if i can be bothered with this. She never apologised and he just makes excuses and says i should give her a chance and wants us to hang out again.
Any advice???? x

He'll be scuttling off to share the drama with his friend. I think you're well rid of this one.

Sounds like 14 year old behaviour but that would be an insult to some mature 14 year olds I know.

Hi OP,

I think friend and your ex are well suited. Wink

You've dodged a bullet on this one!
Well done for recognising your self worth and not putting up with their dramatics and total shite!

FFS, my Dsis is 14 and shes had some epic tantrums before, but even she'd call the twat a drama queen.

I think that the rude friend has achieved her end game - and she didn't even have to try that hard.

I'm not sure I would have been that quick to kick him into touch. I think it's a shame that he didn't at least get the benefit of a quiet reasonable chat because now he's left with the impression that rude friend was right all along! The other point of view and a bit of perspective may well have done him a favour in the long run.

Anyway, that's kind of by the by now.

OP, here's hoping the next one has better friends.

Just read the post about the apology.

Like you apologise to her?

I take it back, kick him into touch.

Thank u :) yea it was quick but I was worried it would be 2 years down the line and get worse. I've not had this kerfuffle with other b friends it seems bizarre

I'd text him sorry, "Sorry, you're a twat."

Seriously though, Ignore him and his badly acted out version of Hollyoaks.

This is like a scene from a playground....

For balance op:

My dp has/d a friend who when we got together was with someone, but when they split up she befriended me to try to get to dp. She used to say things to me like "wel, you know you can't be together (we are ldr)" or "I wanted a proper relationship, couldn't be with someone I couldn't see regularly," and so on. If dp was about she ignored me completely. then she started calling him telling him she misses him, asking when he's going to care enough about her to get in touch with her etc etc and telling him that he shouldn't be telling me any of this because it's just not normal for couples to share things. Hmm

Did I say she "was" his friend? With the emphasis on "was" she is his friend no more.

Just walk away from this one op - some people thrive on drama. Dp's friend is such a person but he wouldn't stand for it. Your bf should be doing the same.

They all sound about 15.
I'd agree on sending him the "Sorry, you're a twat" text.

OP, well done, you can do better than this- a baby adult with tantrumming toddler friends. You've definitely dodged a bullet- tell yourself this at weaker moments or read the testimonials of women on here. Out there are men who will treat you royally. Best of luck Smile Flowers

And to add, just think of them in giant babygrows holding a rattle ready to throw on the floor Grin

I cannot BELIEVE these people are late 30s!!! Grin

I'm sorry OP, I know it's your life, but it's hysterical. I'm only saying that now because you've clearly shown yourself to have enough sense to bail out PDQ.

Lucky lucky escape. Don't engage any more, naturally -though if you get any particularly annoying texts, one good reply would be:

'You know that old saying - you can judge a man by the company he keeps? Well you can, and I did, and that's about all there is to it. Bye-bye, you utter overgrown toddler!'

Just send him a text saying you do not want to have a relationship with him, his stuff will be ready to collect, x time, date, place and please not to contact you again.

It won't be the first time she and he have done this to a third party, it won't be the last. Every time he finds someone he likes she will pull this shit. He will let her and eventually he will not be with that person he likes. Just thank god it only took you a couple of months!

He is either going to end up sad and lonely or give in and let her win him because no one else stays around.
