Why do blokes feel they have to spend half an hour in the loo?

need to grump...

i have been dragged to my dp's parents' house in surrey to discuss wedding plans. things like flowers, cakes, boring, dull tedious and middle-class. to make up for it, dp said we would have a bath in their lovely posh whirlwind thing. so i duly go and run the bath, while he nips downstairs to use the loo. nearly forty minutes later he re-appears, by which time the water is cold and i'm miserable and cross.

i'm 24 weeks pregnant and feeling snappy anyway. i try not to bite his head off every five minutes but it's hard. don't need a response, i just needed to have a moan....

feel better now.....

You should've made him get in it, LOL. Nothing worse than a cold bath. I presume he got lost, or had important manly things to attend to, like Beano ?

I often wonder myself.

DP has a collection from the back catalogue of Private Eye in our loo, and I get fed up of clearing them away, only for them to reproduce again.

DP tells me that it's the only peace he gets all day. Lucky him!!! I can't even go for a wee without DS1 shouting "Mummy" etc up the stairs.

haha my dp used to share a flat with a bloke who had a huge pile of private eyes in the bog. they did make you sit there a while!

ALL houses should be built with at least 2 toilets! - a loo for the ladies and a loo for the men! mine would be pink and fluffy and smell of flowers at ALL times his would be the black hole of the house that funny smells drifted from (eewww) lol

Thaigal · 16/09/2006 17:52

There was a thread a while ago about OTT toilet use, Ill bump it up, had some good tips about getting them to pack it in.

Mercy · 16/09/2006 18:01

And why do they have take a newspaper (or sim.) with them?

Mercy · 16/09/2006 18:02

whoops, didn't read the other posts

chocolatemummy · 16/09/2006 18:06

oh my god isnt that annoying
I feel like everytime I turn round my dh is on the loo, I think he just does it to get away from me and dd lol
he reads in there because I'm always telling him off for leaving mags in there but ..........

are you still wedding planning? that would probably be enough to make me disappear into the loo for 30 mins!

theUrbanDryad · 16/09/2006 19:25

yeah his mum keeps going on about a wedding list! so we've done a total pi$$ take one on amazon. complete with £500 digital camera, GHD hair straightners (always wanted those) and about 50 books! yay! i doubt we'll actually get any of this stuff, and probably still get half a dozen toasters, but who gives a.....? we had fun doing it...

haha yes QV with private eye

foxinsocks · 16/09/2006 19:52

I have put a magazine rack in our loo now. It looked so horrendous with all the papers/mags piled on the floor that I thought I might aswell give them a home!

theUrbanDryad · 16/09/2006 20:12

just read the thread someone bumped from may. i think it's titled "was i going too far?" or something like that. have actually been crying with laughter. it must've been a pi$$ take, surely?

i do feel a bit bad about mocking dp now though.
