This weekend dh had a lie-in yesterday morning (like every Saturday), then he went out with his brother for a couple of hours early afternoon,
then today he got up early with the children, but then returned to bed for TWO AND A HALF HOURS at 10 o'clock. Then we went into town for coffee and cakes, which was nice - but in the book shop he left me to look after children, while he swanned off for 30 minutes to browse around books. When he finally came to find us and I said that I wanted to go and have a look now he said we didn't have time!!!
Laid into him just now, because I haven't had a MINUTE'S break from the children this weekend. Even "my" lie-in (every Sunday) didn't happen because of the clocks changing.
And what did he say? "Well, I did put the stairgates up for you."
OF COURSE! WHY DIDN'T I SEE IT! I get such INTENSE pleasure from f*ing STAIRGATES!!!

I want to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next weekend inform him your off out Saturday am and just go, if he questions it shout loudly...works for me. I am now owed at least 6 hours peace after counting the amount of time I get left with the kiddies when it could be one or the other looking after them.

Know how you feel emkana,
Sometimes, they just need a kick up the backside, to remind them, that they are just taking you for granted.
We live in Cardiff and DH is of Italian parents, so yesturday, he went out at 11:00am, with a friend to watch the Rugby(kick off 2:00), but they had to get there in planty of time.He returned home at 10:30pm,drunk, ate his takeaway and went to bed.Woke up with a hangover, I did make him breakfast but let the boys in to jump all over him .After lunch today he announced that he was off to play Golf, returning home at 7:30, just in time to give the boys a good night kiss.
I had my say about taking me for granted, and always assuming I'll look after the kids.He said he, didn't realise until I pointed it out to him!!! But at least he appologised and promised me next weekend off.
I think it's a man thing sometimes they just don't think of anyone but themselves, until their given a good kick up the ar$e.

OMG emkana - you could be me - i had exactly the same weekend - no lie in, dh out all saturday on a 'gentlemans afternoon' ie pub crawl in another town, ds ill all sunday so only off my knee when i took him for a walk and when i asked dh for some help settling him was told that he needed to put stair protector thing up - which he has done wrong!!!!!!!!!
i am so annoyed - then because i am on leave this week he said he would take ds to nursery and let me have a lie in - great i thought but at 8am when ds woke he shouted me and told me it was too late for him to get ds up and take him to nursery - there went my lie in. Then he told me to cheer up!

sometimes i think i hate him.

Bane of my life this girls.

I got up on saturday and took l down for breakfast, then on Sunday after a lot of me saying 'come on get up, it's your turn', I eventually got up and bought her into bed with us and said to him 'right, you go and get her a drink and breakfast and she can have it in bed with us today' and he said 'you're unbelivable, why didn't you do it as you were up anyway?'!!! I just laughed and said that if he wasn't up in the next 5 minutes the mother of all rows would ensue and the day would be ruined, so best just get up. Thankfully he did but I had to bite the pillow to stop from punching him!! :0
