I should be used to my family by now. Back story

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/relationships/2079591-How-do-I-move-on-Ridiculously-long-and-self-indulgent-sorry

I went to my brothers grave last weekend and noticed the gold lettering was badly worn. So I phoned for a quote to have it restored and was told to contact the headstone owner for permission.

So I made contact with my father to ask for my step mothers permission. He replied with a no don't touch his headstone. We will do what needs to be done. I have been in tears all afternoon. I wanted to do something for my brother but my family despise me so much I am not allowed to touch it. What harm it would have done anyone I don't know. Sad

That must be incredibly distressing for you. I'm so sorry. I don't know why people do this.
