Should I end it now or wait until we absolutely hate each other?

So, I'm contemplating ending my 15 yr marriage, and without going into all the details right now, I'm wondering whether to bite the bullet and do it now, before it gets even worse and we absolutely hate each other. I know I won't change my mind, but I've read enough threads on here to know that people usually wait till it becomes completely unbearable for all concerned before they act.

I don't want our DCs to see us arguing all the time, I don't want to end up hating him (although I hate his behaviour, hence the decision to end it).

He thinks we can fix things, I know we can't.

It sounds inevitable. Do it before you hate each other. Please. That'll be much better for you both and your children. I speak from bitter experience.
