Help me stalk!

Went on a date last night. He seemed normal for once. Did a bit of googling as I alway do and found him on the electoral register. It's def him as he was registered as living there with his ex wife. Any way, looked at the age guide and it lists his ex as 25-29 which is about right but then him as 50-54!! How wrong could it be? He's said he is 35 which he could be, but he could also be 50 and just look bloody good for his age. Is there any way I could check other than asking him? A few weird online dating experiences so I try and check out backgrounds a bit now

I would ask him what year he was born. if he stalls as he is trying to work it out then i guess you'd know.

The Electoral Register in UK is by paid subscription - so you have perhaps been stalking more than you are admitting.

Also, the requirement for DoB rolled out for those age 16-18 only quite recently. The ages of those over about 40+ isn't part of the register.

So perhaps you were on a commercial site which combines data from several sources. Can you find out what underlying data sets it uses?

BTW, if hunting for someone older, try Friends Reunited as it was the shiny new site when they were younger. Finding out which years he was at school should tell you his age.

Thanks everyone. Flipping online dating has made me very cynical! meditrina I just looked at 192.com so nothing more than I said. Checked out myself and my age range is wrong! Thought it was very weird. I don't think it's a bad thing to do a bit of background checking. Went on a date with one guy, googled his username and he was subscribed to various dodgy sex sites! He seemed normal so now I try and keep my eyes wide open

Actually if you're a company director your approximate age will shown, and in that situation it's free to view on 192.com.

192 does give ages - they can be wrong, and I don't know how they get them.

Is there a bg difference in ages between you and him? I'd just cut to the chase, and ask him direct. That is surely far better than using up time and maybe even then getting information that ultimately you will need to validate with him anyway. It depends how keen you are and how much you think you want to move things forward with him. Is he worth bothering about, basically!

I wouldnt be in the least bit offended if a person who Im dating wanted to know, but if you sense there is a bit of subterfuge going on and he isnt being altogether honest, best to know sooner rather than later.

If you see him again, why not just ask him? If he is cagey it should be obvious. Ask him in a slightly detailed, yet casual way. Has to be more reliable than internet stalking, which is often full of errors. I know I appear on one thing on the internet as aged open 55, for some bizarre reason!

Did he say he was married and living g in the ex marital home? Could he be the soon of the person on 192.com?

I wouldn't go on the ages ranges on that as they can be wrong. I would ask outright how old he is. does it not say on his profile?

Thanks everyone. It's ok. Just wrong on 192.com. I checked a couple of people (including myself) and they were all the wrong age!
