Living in 2 homes

Hi all,
I am looking for some advice/experience on a potential situation please! My husband and I currently live together (with our DS(3)) but we'll soon be in the situation where we may live separately for part of the week due to his work commitments. DS and I are definitely not moving as we're in a good location, v good school, v local family etc. The homes would only be about 20mins apart but have a live-in element for him. Anyway, does anyone have any experience of living partly separately and how was/is it?

Thanks

Sounds like bliss to me Smile

Why does he need to live elsewhere for work though, if it's only 20mins away?

Thanks Flumperoo! Part of his responsibility will be to be on duty/call during the night and he has to be on site. I'm worried we'll accidentally drift apart as I work full time too so we're both pretty busy... and I don't want that!

I would say date nights !!

But surely he's not exactly establishing another 'home' is he Confused - he's just doing sleeping in or live in duties isn't he? That is totally different to having two separate homes (which actually sounds like bliss to me after 25 years of married life Grin) - would he stay in this other place on the days/nights he is not working? To me it sounds as if he is just away working, which my DH has done throughout our long married life, overseas travel etc. It is probably what has kept us together so long !

Yeah I guess so, he'd have his own flat there which is what makes me see it as a home I guess. The previous guy doing the job loved there for years with his family. Hm. Maybe I'm over-thinking it!!
