ex partner stole herbs from my garden!?!?

my ex moved house last summer, while we were still together. we did not live together. I helped him move, clean and sort out the old / new house etc. We broke up about 6 months later.
He left pots with herbs etc in my back garden as the new house yard was v v dirty!!
I've just noticed that MY pots are missing - while his old scrawny plants are still here. I'm assuming he climbed the fence to take them.

What should I do? nothing as not worth it??

??? ?????? ?? ?????? ????? ????

Hilarity aside, things like this really hurt! My XP told me that row of mint had been taken by foxes when, in reality, he had given all my plants to the OW. Also, after our split, he delivered HALF of a treasured plant which had been given to me to mark a very special occasion. He has no interest in gardening so realised that it had been divided by OW. Still rankles whenever I look at it!

Dirtybadger · 26/04/2014 23:18

Poo on his pot plants.

I realise all my "revenge" style posts involve faeces but that is a coincidence...

Anniegetyourgun · 26/04/2014 23:30

Was he a Kentish Cunt, catinbootz ?

WildThong · 26/04/2014 23:38

Is his name Basil? I knew him, he's a Nasturtium Mustard, and a Tea-Leaf into the bargain!

BorisJohnsonsHairdresser · 27/04/2014 00:00

Get some horseradish and nettles into his manky pots, and leave him a gift.

jynier · 27/04/2014 00:29

Oh! My XP was right; I really am thick! Fell for a spoof post!!!

Longdistance · 27/04/2014 00:32

Drive past his house and throw the scrawny plants at his front door/windows.

Failing that, you could get some cress seeds and write something complimentary on his lawn like...THIEF.

kellymu · 27/04/2014 00:44

Do nothing it's not worth any hassle.

Monty27 · 27/04/2014 01:03

Call the cops! Shock

FanFuckingTastic · 27/04/2014 02:41

I'm really annoyed because when I had to flee my ex, I left behind my most favourite thing, a full Jelly Belly bean dispenser. I got it for my kids (but secretly for me). I need someone to go stick a horses head in his letterbox or something.

BitOutOfPractice · 27/04/2014 03:31

I cannot understand why everyone is making a joke about this

I would be pretty freaked out or I knew someone had been in my garden to stall from me even worse that it's someone I know. It's really quite sinister and I would be scared.

What sort of terms are guy on op? Could you text him to say that if he even attempts to break into your property again you will not hesitate to call the police.

Hope you're ok

4amInsomniac · 27/04/2014 05:26

Thyme to end this silliness, I think Smile

catinbootz · 27/04/2014 08:10

He was either a Kentish Cunt or a Cunt of Kent. It depends which side of the river you live on ( and I can't remember the rule) Grin

FanFuckingTastic · 27/04/2014 08:26

I think it's because it's just such a petty thing to do, steal bloody herbs, what can you do but laugh. And keep your doors locked and your eyes open.

My ex has done some extremely petty things, finding the humour in them is what keeps me sane. And of course reporting him to the police, and getting a non-molestation order.

Trying to make OP laugh is partly trying to diffuse the stress, because stupid little things like this are supposed to make us get hurt and upset, and by laughing at them, you don't give in to their mind games.

aujordoui · 27/04/2014 10:37

I'd suggest a great recipe to use the herbs with then remind him afterwards if he remembered just how many tom cats used them for a toilet.

upupupandaway · 27/04/2014 10:47

Are you certain it's Ex who's taken them? I've had pots nicked from my front garden.

WildBill · 27/04/2014 12:21

Say nothing then either of the following 2 options;
Do nothing
Wait until you know he's out and nick them back (if you are feeling mischevious)

Fairylea · 27/04/2014 12:26

Is he my ex??

My ex took a massive potted plant I had lovingly grown in our garden. He spent the entire 6 years of our marriage insisting he hated the garden and never set foot in it except to grudgingly help me mow the grass once a year in the summer. He did this with tissue stuck up his nose and wearing a bin bag as he claimed he was allergic to grass. He wasn't. He was just a bumface.

I know he took the plant just to spite me. Along with one half of the leather sofa suite we had when he was moving back into his mum's and had nowhere to put it.

I hope the fucking plant gave him hives :)
