After a great start last week, this week we spent the whole hour bickering. She tried to make him see certain things maybe needed changing and so in the car on the way home when he said something and I screamed 'well thats because she tried to point out that your family ARE odd and you need to decide whether to be married to me or your mother'!!!!!

Ohh dear, not a great idea I admit, but whats the point in going to see a counsellor if you dont listen .........grrrrrrrrr

Second and third session always the worst.....Well everyone's polite / nervous / not getting into it in the first one. Now you start on the problems and (because they are problems)bringing them up they will def get worse before they get better. 'Cos now you're getting it into the open. One or both of you bound to be defensive, mad, scared, hurt, unwilling - or all of them in the same hour! It's when you've got all the problems out / had the emotions / really disliked each other that you can start to work through it. Keep at it - be session 5 or 6 you'll know where you are more....

I'm sure the first few sessions are difficult, I hope they start getting better for you.
