worth it then !
mine is currently building something out of lego with ds.
I am ,of course, upstairs tidying !!

ComeOVeneer · 20/08/2006 13:25

Mine is away on a stag weekend. ds is napping, dd is playing with her dolls in the other room, and I am ironing .

I will be making a roast for dh tonight when he returns (as I am trying to butter him up so he will agree to buying the house that I want - and have put in an offer on ).

magnolia1 · 20/08/2006 13:30

Dh is over his parents and taken dt1 with him, dd1 is at a friends, dt2 is at her Aunties so it's just me and dd4 who is happily watching Nick Jr while I tidy up

DP is running me a bath as we speak, he has helped clean up this morning and is about to start dinner as my children get back from visiting MIL today and so dh will be staying to dinner when he drops them off and my mom and sister will be coming too.
(and yesterday he got my a massive bar of chocolate "to help my period pains )
Is he a star or what

lizziemun · 20/08/2006 15:43

i think something happen to all our DH, they all seem to have been changed into helpers so far this weekend i have

  1. look after VERY tired grumpy dd for 2 hours yesterday while had a break.

  2. Got up at 7 with dd so i could stay in bed for a change.

  3. got cheinese take away last night so i did not have to cook

  4. Taken us out to lunch (first time for ages)

Of course this has nothing to do with the fact he want to go out to a poker tournament on bank holiday.

ilovecaboose · 20/08/2006 16:06

I've just come home from my parents (ds is still there being spoilt) and OH has sorted out all of the enormous piles of MY uni work onto the shelves he put up with much encouragement/nagging last weekend. Now he has gone into the kitchen and is doing more DIY in there . Believe me I ain't complaining, but what has happened?

Oh and he says he's gonna finish off some other DIY soon (well I've been waiting 3 yrs for him to consider it so this is definately progress).

Maybe its cos I took ds out this morning so OH could have a lie in. Hmmmmm....

ComeOVeneer · 20/08/2006 16:20

Mine has been seriously unhelpful. Not his fault though as he has been away on a stag weekend, but I am knackered (kids were up at 5.45 am this morning and 6.30 am yesterday morning). Plus I had to drive to Surrey yesterday and look around 10 houses all by myself. At least I managed to organise a baby sitter so didn't have to take kids. He had better be bringing me back something from duty free.

Piffle · 20/08/2006 16:22

So is mine.
I am 9 weks pregnant and bit funny about preparing food and feeling quite grotty so bless him
He even looked up on google how to make good gravy from the giblets...
I LOVE him.
He has been an angel this weekend

Oh you all have such lovely DH's/DPs! Mine hasn't been too bad, actually, he looked after DS1 today for an hour or so while I had a lie down, and he spent an hour making a mock up of a piano out of wood and manouevering it out of various exits so that he could work out how to move my beloved piano when we move without upending it and ruining it ( I know he would actually prefer to leave it behind, so that's quite sweet really)...

WelshBoris · 20/08/2006 19:12

My lovely man knew I was going out with the girls on Friday and wanted new shoes so left £50 under one of DDs toys in my bedroom then texted me when he went saying
"Winnie the pooh wants to buy you new shoes"

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

janeite · 20/08/2006 19:14

ComeOVeneer · 20/08/2006 19:19

That is so sweet Welshy. I am secretly hoping dh comes home this evening bearing gifts to placate me for having to deal with the kids alone for the weekend and doing all the house viewings by myself yesterday. (Did I mention "my new hose" ? ).

Pages · 20/08/2006 19:35

I forgot to say Dh is a bit eccentric!

Sooo sweet Welshy, you have indeed struck gold.

ComeoVeneer, have you seriously really put in an offer on a house without your DH knowing? He he, you have a lot of guts!!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 20/08/2006 19:46
