OK, my vote is for Kenny Rogers 'The Gambler'. The chorus is so true.

You gotta know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run

You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done.

Your mother and I - Loudon Wainwright III

Your Mother & I are living apart
I know that seems stupid, but we weren't very smart
You'll stay with her, I'll visit you
At Christmas, on weekends, the summertime too

Your Mother & I are not getting along
Somehow somewhere something went wrong
Everything changes, time takes it's toll
Your folks fell in love, loves a very deep hole

Your Mother & I will do all we can do
To work this thing out and to take care of you
Families get broken, I know it's a shame
It's nobody's fault, you're not to blame

Your Mother & I are both feeling bad
Things will get better, It won't stay this sad
And I hope when you grow up, one day you'll see
Your parents are people, that's all we can be

Shock at the Helen Reddy reference ...that's a blast from the past, as is Carole Bayer Sager Grin

How about Elvis's My Boy? Or Gilbert O'Sullivan's Alone Again, Naturally. It's about being jilted at the altar rather than divorce but if you need to cry, this will get you there.

Don't hold your breath- Nicole Scherzinger (however it's spelt)
Take a bow Rihanna
You look so dumb right now
Standing outside my house
Trying to apologize
Your so ugly when you cry
Please just cut it out
And don't tell me your sorry cos your not
Baby when I know your only sorry you got caught.

I listened to rihanna Kelly Clarkson stronger and Nicole when I first left my exH following being lied to abused stabbed and cheated on repeatedly.

I finally got my divorce last July. He still thinks I will go back Hmm

My song of choice is Eurythmics "Thorn In My Side" - I belted it out at karaoke for months after leaving an abusive husband.

Thorn in my side, you know that's all you ever were
A bundle of lies, you know that's all that it was worth
I should have known better but I trusted you at first
I should have known better but I got what I deserved

Thorn in my side, you know that's all you'll ever be
So don't think you know better 'cause that's what you mean to me
I was feeling complicated, I was feeling low
Now everytime I think of you, I shiver to the bone

Jenny Talia -

‘Cos I don’t do déjà vu

I’ve learned a lot about me since you walked out of the door

Like I’ve learned to live without you I don’t need your shit no more

And I don’t do nice when I’m pissed

So kiss my arse and while you’re down there read my lips

I don’t do déjà vu

I don’t make mistakes by two

I’ve been there before ain’t takin’ no more shit from you

Isetan · 02/04/2014 15:27

The Beautiful South - A Little Time
Hue & Cry - Labour of Love

Mcalmont and Butler - Yes

So you wanna know me now
How I've been
You can't help someone recover
After what you did
So tell me am I looking better?
Have you forgot
Whatever it was that you couldn't stand
About me about me about me?

Because...
Yes I do feel better
Yes I do I feel alright
I feel well enough to tell you what you can do with what you got
To offer

Weathergames · 02/04/2014 21:27

Helen Reddy - Peaceful.

Holly300 · 02/04/2014 21:37

Ok so I haven't LTB yet but is happening in the next few weeks when kids are back at school.

Dcs obsessed with Let It Go (from Frozen), and so am I now! I find the words quite empowering :)
