What do you do on a Saturday night?

DH likes to watch TV side by side with me and catch up on sleep after a tiring week

I think Saturday night is definitely Shag Night preceded by going out or a takeaway

We watch tv. Both knackered, and a babysitter means we are £30 down before going anywhere, as well as we only know two people who will babysit

Dib It can be difficult to get out and enjoy yourselves as a couple with young children - finding the energy to start with.

After barely going out at all for 13 years (no handy, willing grandparents) we now have a teenage DC to babysit if we need to. It's been a long wait.

I sometimes go out with my mates. They come to mine or I go to them and stay out overnight.
They are in various places around and about - most about 1.5 hours away.

Go the local pub for a band night.

Go out in town for a meal and then drinks.

Go out with my sister.

Have my family over for dinner and sleep over.

Go out for dinner with OH parents.

Go to the theatre.

Like to have that shag before we go out though!

Have started to go out either family mind baby or I have gone out with friends

Mostly get a DVD and make popcorn

mornings are for shagging. Everyone knows that.

If we are not going out, we watch a movie and drink wine.

Hells I like your style.

We either stay in with a takeaway/drinks and watch tv together. Or we go to the pub.

Once toddler in bed we are both knackered, have some dinner, watch a film and I will probably be BFing the baby for a good chunk of it too

Same as every night, put boy to bed and flop in front of the telly. Although I do notice dh is keen on his conjugals that day of the week....

The same as every other night in the week, except DD stays up later.

I am free to go out every other Saturday night when XH has dd. In reality, we don't go out very often . Because I am old, and pretty much always cream-crackered by that stage, we have a meal, watch Casualty or a dvd, drink wine and hopefully restore enough energy to do the horizontal lambarda and talk about stuff. We don't live together btw.

DH does his own thing in his office. Either works or watches Iplayer/Youtube.

Given up trying to get him to do stuff with me, or wait for him to be finished with whatever it is he is doing. I might go to the gym, watch stuff on the laptop, read. Pretty much like any other night - he does his stuff, I do mine, zero interaction .

On child-free weekends we try to make the most of it - usually get out to the theatre/dance show, cinema or restaurant (and then shagging afterwards).

When DS is with us, we'll have a movie night at home, visit family for dinner and just hang out as a family (possibly with shagging afterwards).

No shagging here but generally it's catch up with tv, see friends, take away or a nice cooked meal and a lie in on Sunday. Used to go out pubs once a month when DS was with his biological Dad but it just ended up costing a fortune!

Must say I'm relieved the Saturday Night Shaggers have started to reveal themselves (so to speak). Was beginning to think I was almost the only one with this expectation of what makes the weekend extra special.

cardamom Really sorry. It's a lonely & disappointing way to spend the evenings.

If you'd asked me this time last year, it would have been the same as every other night. Staying in, watching tv, exh snoring on the sofa by 9.30. Me sitting by myself, upset, miserable etc. Zero shagging.

Fast forward to now, separated from exh. Kids go to his every sat night so I go out EVERY sat night

I sometimes just go to new guys house & watch films & drink wine while snuggling up on the sofa together. Or we go out for a meal, or out with friends, or out for a drink. Whatever we do it's followed by shagging , followed the next morning by more shagging.

So yes! Lots of fun finally!

Depends on whether we have anything planned! Most Saturdays consist of a naughty dinner (chilli cheese nachos or the like) Netflix, massage, sexy times...mind you, this Saturday we're out to a party, and boy do we go hard! Can't wait! Love partying with DP!

We are generally out with friends/at a friends for dinner/having friends for dinner/out with the DC for dinner/staying at rellies/hosting a sleepover.

If we are at home with nothing on, there will usually be some crap on the TV that the teens are watching and I will be MNing and DH ipadding.

Having teens means you can go out easily, but not much private time in the evenings

Yup, shag night here too Usually snuggle on the sofa and watch a dvd, sometimes go to the pub or see friends.

Same as every other night. Put kids to bed and watch tv/movie. DH is shattered from his job (construction so long hours and physical) and I'm shattered from looking after four DCs under 6yo and studying for my degree. Only difference on a Saturday is we might stop up later and have a drink.

Occasionally we go out usually pub or for dinner, sometimes a party with friends, but its only a few times a year as we're either skint or too tired.

Cook a nice meal, light candles, snuggle on the sofa, drink Rioja in front of the fire and watch casualty. Love it.

Usually an evening infront of the tv or a film, nice snacks and cuddles with my DP.

And of course, shag night :) along with shag afternoon on Sunday

Thanks all for your replies. It seems the whole world isn't horny on a Sat night like I thought, and I was missing out on a shagathon each week.

But then again its a realistic expectation, especially for those of us who no longer have young children. Will have to help DH find his va va voom on that night of the week. I want some weekend spice to look forward to.
