How can I get through to him?

My dp has always had a bit of hygiene problem, sometimes dosnt brush his teeth before bed, somethings goes for over a week without a shower but a few times i have been in the bathroom and found skid marks on his boxers which really make me feel ill, I didnt know how to handle it without embarrasing him but then to make matters worse I went to do some washing and there was skid marks on his socks too and my son said he saw his dad wiping his bum with the socks because there was no toilet role.

How do I handle this without causing an argument or am I just over-reacting?

Either you are joking (are you?) or you're the one who is allowing him to get away with this: Skid marked clothes get washed or binned by the person who wore them. Period.

Get him a seperate laundry basket and make him do his own washing. He might take the hint.Leave him a loo roll and some toothpaste by his side of the bed.

Does he go to work everyday without showering, maybe someone at his workplace would have mentioned something to him.

Agree with toadstool. Yik!

oh my god, what a pig. don;t wash them. Place them on his pillow at night!!! seriously though that is nasty. are you going to approach him about it?

Gingeme · 16/08/2006 16:54

How old is this guy12? Sorry but you realy have to sit down and talk to him especialy if your son has noticed it too. How long has this been going on? Id make him do his own washing and see how long it lasts. Batoutofhell has a good idea leave toothpaste and loo roll on his bed at night. Be careful though dont let it turn into a rwo or hell regress.....

that is disgusting
I blow my do up cleaning his ears with cotton buds and not disposing of them himself, I stick them in his toothbrush (he is obsessive about teeth brushing)
Do not wash then when he asks where are his socks, point him to the plastic bin in the garage where you keep his "soiled" articles

I was going to sday how old is he 12?
Aside from the shiity sock bit my ds who is 12 behaves much like that
I found skids on his sheets and hung his sheets out the window
He has been spotless since

Or use his best t-shirts as sanitary protection?

Gingeme · 16/08/2006 19:00

How you doing 1nonblonde?

julezboo · 17/08/2006 16:11

omg you rpoor woman!! I honestly dont know how you would tell him tbh, Id be quite annoyed he did that in front of my son if it was my dp.

If my dp stinks I tell him so, he laughs and refuses to shower for an hour then gives in LOL

CarlyP · 17/08/2006 16:17

i wouldnt worry about 'embarassing him' id tell him straight. that is vile.

bev1e · 17/08/2006 16:32

This is so funny! I personally don't have a problem with skids, my problem would be with the fact he's not putting his dirty washing in the washbin.
