Lady gardens…..what's the fashion these days?!

In a new relationship and very likely to consummate soon Wink, but I am a bit concerned at what men expect these days. Is everyone having vagazzles, brazilians etc. Do ordinary women - like myself - just go for neat and tidy? I'm feeling self conscious and a bit embarrassed.

bojolly - that really made me laugh!

Up to my boobs, down to my knees.

FolkGirl · 19/03/2014 23:06

I would be seriously put off by a man who had shaved/waxed his nether regions. I think I would recoil slightly in disgust. I certainly wouldn't want to get too close...

thecook · 20/03/2014 00:59

I have been shaving the lot off since 1991. Bloody pubic hairs - no thank you I work out out at a gym in West London. Everybody shaves. Nobody has hair down there.

Cuxibamba · 20/03/2014 01:03

Shaved- whether I was single or not. It's how I like it. Don't really care what a man has done to theirs as long as it isn't all glittery or something.

WTFwasthat · 20/03/2014 07:23

I actually outright asked him last night - we were n FB chat so not quite as brave as I sound….I asked in a humourous way and he said he couldn't give a fuck, it was me he was interested in, not my grooming methods! Feel so relieved stupid as it is. Smile

omg Lweji where did you find that?!?!? Grin

Just googled the bush is back

BluBurd · 20/03/2014 07:51

I've been single for seven weeks, which is all it's taken for my smooth look to turn into a wild jungle complete with tigers and monkeys. Quite like it really. Always wanted a pet tiger.

Think if the need was ever to arise, I would trim and do bikini line, but not all off anymore. It's such a hassle.

lemonbabe · 20/03/2014 08:00

Omg, this post is freakin hilarious !!!! Felt I had to add my 2-pennyworth....

I have a what's known in the industry as a metro ticket - tiny bit just for effect, the rest is bald. I did have this discussion with my last DP, in fact a lot of blokes don't care, hairy, bald, semi-bald, whatever, they'll take whatever's on offer Smile

I am also astounded by a man shaving his armpits. That would've been a red flag moment for me I'm afraid - yikes !!! Shock

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 20/03/2014 08:06

He sounds like a good sort then OP. Smile I think you can tell a lot about a bloke by his answer to that question.

BluBurd · 20/03/2014 08:10

I know loads of blokes that shave their arm pits! My brother for one an he is no red flag man, he's the best man I know :)

Personally I don't care if a man has shaved armpits or not...but if he shaves his chest, I'm long gone. Love a hairy chest, all men should have one or if unable to naturally grow one, should have hair transplants or glue a fluffy rug to themselves.

Bunbaker · 20/03/2014 08:14

"I like hairy blokes but they have a horrible habit of shaving these days."

What age range would they be?

I have been married for over 30 years so I have no idea what is "in" these days.

Joysmum · 20/03/2014 09:02

I think shaving pits makes sense as there's less potential for stinkiness. My hubby doesn't but it wouldn't bother me if he did.

WTFwasthat · 20/03/2014 12:31

Letsfacethemusic - he is a very good sort - seeing him tomorrow and very much looking forward to it…….Wink

Bunbaker I think a lot of men under 30 trim their pubic hair. I have just asked and the majority said they like to keep it neat and tidy. Chest hair they don't bother getting rid of, back hair must go. And armpit hair is shaven if you are going to be showing your armpits a lot.

LoisPuddingLane · 20/03/2014 16:11

What age range? One was under 30, the others under 40. And yes, I'm a terrible cradle snatcher.

ElizabethX · 20/03/2014 17:27

Off the legs and inside the knickers in my case, so no spider's legs, but that's yer lot. There is something wrong with a bloke who doesn't like trailing his fingers through his woman's pubes IMO. What are they going to not-like next FGS, playing with our tits?

How the hell do you de-pube your arse hole? Is it like wiping only using a razor?

My bloke loves my bush and says if it went, so would he. At least I think that's what he's saying. He's down there a lot and his voice is often muffled.

Bewildered by blokes shaving themselves. Where does a man consider his pube line to stop? My current bloke's bush blends into a vertical line of man-hair that runs up his belly and spreads across his chest, while in the other direction it segues nicely into leg hair. I am enjoying thinking about it.

Back hair is a bit gross.

LoisPuddingLane · 20/03/2014 18:17

At least I think that's what he's saying. He's down there a lot and his voice is often muffled.

Haha. I do think it's funny if a bloke looks up at you when he's down below and you've got a bush.

Back hair - yes it's not on my list of perves but I'll ignore it in a ladylike fashion.

Backonthefence · 20/03/2014 19:27

Why is back hair any grosser than pubic hair?

The reasons you don't like it is probably the same as those who don't like pubic hair.

LoisPuddingLane · 20/03/2014 19:34

I don't find it gross. Other body hair turns me on and back hair doesn't. So I just don't look at it.

blueberryupsidedown · 20/03/2014 19:44

been with dh for 20 years and I don't know what he prefers. I think he prefers sex once in a while! For me it's a high bikini, neat legs, and I have the top of the pubs waxed down to just under my c section line. Just in a nice triangle shape, nothing fancy. I keep it all short using a hair trimmer!

Backonthefence · 20/03/2014 19:47

Sorry the gross comment was to the poster above you lois i'm just curious as to why there is something wrong with you if you don't like pubic hair but no problem finding hair on other parts of the body icky.

GinUtero · 20/03/2014 20:15

I don't think I could grow a 70s muff if I tried - the hair on my head is extremely fine and straight and down there pretty much the same.

I've had laser hair removal on my bikini line as I found it so tiresome getting ingrown hairs from waxing all the time. I used to wax more off when DH and I first got together and i know he liked that, but it's such a bloody effort that I rarely do it these days, I just keep neat and tidy.

A recommended the laser hair removal to a friend and she's literally gone and had everything permanently removed! I don't think I'd go for that, seeing how fashions change…

As for shaving, I've tried it, but it's so stubbly and I don't like the idea of having a razor so close to my bits every day!

indigo18 · 20/03/2014 20:21

Thank the Lord the plucked chicken look was not required when I was young; I think it looks horrible, must itch terribly and then there's the ingrowing hairs .... yuk! Any young men I encountered were just grateful to even SEE my lady garden. Do shave sides but only for swimsuit.
