Even though he is an arse and I'm better off alone. I really miss him. It's been a month. I don't want him back as he hurt me badly but I love him. Does this make sense?

Yes, it's early days. I'm 10 months on from mine. He was abusive, emotionally and financial. I don't miss that shit but I miss him. However everyone tells me I look better and seem better. I've decided my heart/emotions can't be trusted as I love him even though my head knows he's a bad, bad man.

I still love my ex after 9 yrs. He was/is an alcoholic and I have helped/ enabled him all these yrs. he cheated. We reconciled. I still loved my abusive and frankly evil ex for a long time. Time is the only thing that will solve that I'm afraid. Time and distance. It's been 8 years now and I don't love him anymore. Just focus on keeping well away my dear.

Short relationships can be very intense and, if he hurt you very badly, there was clearly a lot of emotion involved. It doesn't sound like 'love' however. The best way to get over a bad experience is to give yourself as little time as possible to dwell and mull over the past. Fill your diary, be with people, do interesting stuff... make a conscious effort to look forward rather than back.
