How can I thank my husband for being great recently?

He's been amazing. This very second he's clearing out our old flat by himself while I sit with my sister watching Netflix and looking after our baby. When I was pregnant I had SPD and it's not gone away so I'm quite shit at doing things around the house just now. He works and studies at uni and as soon as he comes home he takes the little one off my hands for a while. He never asks anything in return.

I want to do something to show him how thankful I am but I'm not really good at this kind of thing. Money is tight and we have a 10 week old so we're not really able to do anything we might have done pre dc. Any ideas would be amazing, I want to do something really special for him. (Not in relation to Valentines day).

I haven't gone into detail about how much he does for me because I didn't want it to seem like I was bragging. He's honestly amazing.

Dine in for 2 for ten pounds and a movie at home. Go for a Saturday pub lunch somewhere new? Take him and bub for a stroll in the park but pack a thermos of yummy hot chocolate. Or just tell him. Say right when he does something thank you, I love you, I appreciate you, I'm so glad you are in my life, my life is better because you are in it.

Send flowers to his work. Or champagne. You could arrange a special treat for him. Has he ever wanted to sky dive or go to a concert, see a band or comedian. Do a race day at silver stone? Day spa?

Something that is all about him might work.

You know him best.... what does he really like? What would he appreciate? I'm an ex-pat Northerner and last time he visited my Dad brought me something I love and miss from my home town... a couple of award-winning black puddings! Only cost him a pound or two but the thoughtfulness was priceless.

Telling him how much this means to you will touch him more than some gift. Write it in a card that he can keep.

Agree with above. Just honest, open and from he heart praise makes us men feel all manly and loved. ( and it's quite cute)

A thank you card with a nice message from you inside and does he like biscuits? Maybe make a few that he likes? Or plan a meal that he would really go a bomb on. If funds will allow maybe ask sister to babysit and then go out somewhere - sat a pub for lunch or a cheapish restaurant??? Evan a walk around the shops! Just have a moment together.

If that's the way you feel chances are he already knows. But hearing it out loud gives us that special squiggly feeling in our tummies.

Especially if whispered in the ear from the reclining cuddle position.

Ask your sister to look after the baby for a couple of hours .

I would make him a lovely meal and set the table nice. And tell him how great he is and what he means to you.

I'd say you should keep telling him how much you appreciate his efforts.
