Skinny floppy haired indie types who end up as lefty beardies.

I seem to have lots of friends who are bear-types: would never fancy one but always find myself warming to their bulky hairy kind faces and twinkly eyes!

frogslegs35 · 08/02/2014 16:23

I prefer tall (6'3/6'4 +) to accomodate my own height but have had shorter, so it's not really a must.
That said I'm never attracted to fair hair, blue eyed guys so for me dark is a must.

I seem to attract bad boys too Hmm

WisneaMe · 08/02/2014 19:20

I don't think I have a type specifically I have a muscly bf the now but before my ex was a twig, now I seem to be attracted to black men that have a confident look but of course I'm faithful.:-)

whitesugar · 08/02/2014 20:38

WHen I hear everyone say tall I want to shout please don't say that. MN is full of single women dying to meet guys and really worried about being alone forever. I would bet that a lot of those women would not look twice at a shorter guy. Why is it that qualities like kind, funny and loving at the top of the wish list instead of tall. I know a lot of tall men who are the greatest dickheads on the planet. I was with someone who was about 5.6, I am 5.5. I never had better sex and laughed my head off. It was never going to last but it was fantastic.

Take a look at Rod Stewart's Mrs, does she look bothered about his height.

whitesugar · 08/02/2014 20:39

meant to say - why those qualities are NOT top of the list!

MiniTheMinx · 08/02/2014 20:49

I'm short, I don't find tall men particularly attractive. I can't carry a box around to stand on.

I like average height, stocky build (not muscle bound) dark hair, blue eyes, beards, good dress sense, intelligence and humour.

whitesugar · 08/02/2014 20:51

Mini - exact same for me in a nutshell. Ony trouble is bagging one!

MiniTheMinx · 08/02/2014 20:58

If I see anyone fitting this description I'll give you the heads up Grin

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 08/02/2014 21:00

Used to think I liked them tall dark and handsome.

DH - well, I think he's quite handsome Grin but he certainly doesn't tick the other boxes but I luffs him anyway!

He also decided I liked long-haired types (sometimes true...) and tried to grow his hair once. Let's just say it grew outwards rather than down...

Personally I now think "types" are a load of bollocks, and the main things I would look for in a man are "nice" (very underrated IMO) and "interesting"!

AnneWentworth · 08/02/2014 21:07

Dark which in London has meant my boyfriends have mostly been Asian and DH too. I always think if I was born in America it would be the Latin men.

These days though much older men and intellectually stimulating men. (In theory of course)

CuntyBunty · 08/02/2014 21:08

I like your tweedy, weedy, academic cerebral type. Physically he could be anything but, he has to blow my mind. DH is an academic tweedster and he also has an arse like a shelf, which is a bonus.

CuntyBunty · 08/02/2014 21:10

You are right of course, MyNameIs, sexual attraction is superficial, but also fleeting, especially when somebody beautiful opens their mouth and reveals themselves as neither nice, nor interesting.

OhBabyLilyMunster · 08/02/2014 21:11

Looks: long haired, tattooed, hairy, slender out and out dirty rock and rollers

Must be funny, smart, sexy, and love music.

ManofMystery · 08/02/2014 21:13

It's mostly about the mind for me. Intelligence and confidence are usually hugely attractive.

Don't have a type looks wise but definitely like curves and not into skinny women.

jayho · 08/02/2014 21:13

hmm, i like big, bald, big ears, big nose.

WisneaMe · 08/02/2014 23:20

Ah cuntybunty my bf has an arse of the shelf like variety I luffs him so much for it.

blueshoes · 08/02/2014 23:29

I don't have a physical type. I am an equal opportunity lover.

However, a physical attraction coupled with a certain intellectual intrigue is fatal.

1974rach · 08/02/2014 23:39

My OH is just my type - chunky monkey, shaved head and a wicked sense of humour.

However I am very much in the midst of a crush on Benedict Cumberbatch. who is the exact physical opposite of OH. Grin

scottishmummy · 08/02/2014 23:47

Scottish

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/02/2014 23:49

I like v slim, dark long hair, v tall (am 5'2). Dp is silm, 6 foot tall, blue eyed and...bald!

HanselandGretel · 08/02/2014 23:54

In the minority here but I prefer shorter guys, chunky build but not so much the rugby player chunky, short hair or even receding or bald and blue eyes...but not all of my boyfriends have looked like this so it doesn't always tally!
Don't like scrawny, or chavvy looking, or those who look too groomed. Oh and I will run a mile from a guy with pointed shoes!
More important to me are intelligence, humour, niceness, kindness and a wry take on the world.

normalishdude · 10/02/2014 11:57

I guess I prefer them slim too, thinking about it.

lucyintheskywithdinos · 10/02/2014 12:11

Clever and skinny.

By clever, I really mean 'has a passion of some kind that they can speak knowledgeably and interestingly about'
