Always have legs and everything else shaved.

Always make an effort.

Dont want him to get bored of me

orangegiraffe · 31/07/2006 21:37

no

schneebly · 31/07/2006 21:37

Nope
But neither does he so why should I bother!

hulababy · 31/07/2006 21:43

I always have my legs/underarm shaved - but more for me than DH; I don't like to be unshaved.

I don't always have my hair done and often by time he gets home from work it'll be just pulled back out of my eyes when cooking, etc.

I always have perfume on - rarely i don't wear in.

I make an effort whenever we are going out. I don't look a wreck the rest of the time, but look more "at home" sometimes, especially by 6:30pm after a day of playing with 4yo DD!

Alipiggie · 31/07/2006 21:51

At the moment don't have dh (separated) but still make the effort for me. So last week was manicure/pedicure, hair coloured, trimmed and always shave, hate airy pits and legs . But think I deserve pampering, as all we mums do.

FanjoFanjoWhosGotTheFanjo · 31/07/2006 22:01

DH thinks I should give up shaving legs, and I don't shave my pits. I cut my own hair, but try to do it reasonably often. I generally smell of sweat, or whatever I've been cooking.

Um, so I guess I make an effort in the ways he'd appreciate. If I got my hair "done" in any normal sense of the word and put perfume (and worse, makeup) on, he'd be unhappy.

yomellamoHelly · 31/07/2006 22:32

Still make the effort every few days (mmm!) - but then he also sees he flip-side too, particularly since the arrival of ds. I love it when dh notices and compliments me, though (which he invariably does - must look a right state in between!)

handlemecarefully · 31/07/2006 22:39

Not for him, but for me...sigh, what a sad state of affairs

warthog · 31/07/2006 22:43

yes, i try and make an effort to look nice, but not all the time. he usually notices when i've made an effort. he makes an effort for me.

noddyholder · 31/07/2006 22:46

I do all that stuff for me really as do likes hairy armpits and no make up!He appreciates when I look nice though but we are both quite slobby at times although not in a stinky way!

noddyholder · 31/07/2006 22:49

should say dp not do!

puddle · 31/07/2006 22:51

I like making an effort when we go on a date.

joelallie · 01/08/2006 09:15

For me, not him. If he appreciates it that's a bonus. I make an effort for everyone in my family - but not neccessarily to do with what I look like. We had kids - we both chose to do that - and now most of my/our energy is directed to keeping everyone fed, clean and happy.

DH fancies the pants of me anyway. So presumably I'm doing something right.

Gobbledigook · 01/08/2006 09:32

I always do hair, make up, nice clothes etc. That's just me, I don't do it 'for' anyone really, just for myself.

Though today I plan on staying in my pjs and not washing my hair or putting make up on. Not going out anywhere - having a day slobbing with the boys. The rest of teh week we've things to do so this is my only chance to be a pig.

LaDiDaDi · 01/08/2006 11:08

I always have shaved legs, armpits etc butthis is just as much for me as for dp. Same goes for make-up and perfume. Perfume is a big thing for me, I started to wear it when I started work after uni as before then I didn't have the money for such luxuries . I'm not quite as fussy about my hair for some reason but if I straighten it or go to the hairdressers then dp always compliments me. I like dressing nicely and looking smart as does dp most of the time. He is waay more likely to iron something than me though.

YellowFeathers · 01/08/2006 11:10

Good god no!

I look a right old mess in the house. If I go out though its a different matter.

HuwEdwards · 01/08/2006 11:17

I make an effort - but for me.

Hmmm
I generally hack away at my own hair, and unless we are going out and I can be bothered it is never "done". I do wash it!And usually manage to drag a brush through it and put it 'up' - but 'up' as in out of the way rather than in any particular style.

Am often to be found slightly more fuzzy than woudl like to be...just laziness really...and get rid of it for myself cos it's uncomfortable being all prickly...

Don't think I smell bad, but never wear perfume.

DH can't stand make up, he tsks at me wearing very occassional lightly applied mascara (he's like a parent, can spot coloured lip gloss from 50 paces!!) Same with perfume, nail polish etc...fine by me!

JessaJam · 01/08/2006 11:20

Oh and DH doesn't notice when I do bother anyway...but has been known to comment on prickly legs ...

MrsBadger · 01/08/2006 11:22

my legs are naturally hairless [smug]
apart from that we both do our fair share of slobbing in pjs / dressing up when appropriate etc
but we are a pair of soppy romantics and appreciate each others' smiles, pretty eyes etc even when wearing filthy gardening clothes.
And yesterday when I'd just got in from work, hot, tired and sweaty in linen trousers, hawaiian shirt and my old glasses, he told me I looked 'like one of those sexy marine biologists' and got all amorous.

So I do make an effort, but it would seem that he loves me even when I don't
am obv v lucky!

Iklboo · 01/08/2006 11:27

Almost always shaved legs, arms, bits
Always smell nice
Hair doesn't need much "doing"

I make an effort when we go out, but mostly we just like to relax at home in our "comfies" after a hadr day at work and looking after the wee fella

joelallie · 01/08/2006 11:57

LOL "looking after the wee fella ". Is that a euphemism? Or would your other half object to the 'wee' I reckon that counts as 'making an effort for your DH/DP!.
