Far sooner than I ever expected but, as the title says, I have a date!

Met him out walking my dog a week ago, just got chatting as you do, we exchanged numbers, he has texted me and we've had a couple of text conversations (what we both do, how old we both are, general stuff) and he invited me out this weekend.

I said I could only meet him if it factored in walking my dog as I am studying and have a deadline on Monday so we are going to have a coffee and walk the dogs.

My best friend advised the cliche that the best way to get over a man is to get under another one

we shall see what unfolds, I intend to play it cool as I have only recently split from my ex and have 6 months of Uni left so could do without any head over heels shit distracting me (he is nice though).

PS. FWIW, I have no intention of shagging him any time soon!!!!!

Watch out for greedily eaten cakes too.
You shouldn't rule him out for gobbling up chocolate cake but take note.

If by "play it cool" you mean "I will refrain from contacting him and see how much he chases me" or somesuch, then I say you are not really open to the possibility of a good and real relationship so soon after your split.

Empire biscuits indicate a feeder mentality that will result in lots of snacks while telly watching as the relationship progresses. Tray bakes indicate a decent sweet tooth, but a lack of a cake-baking mother. Lemon cake means he's only having cake to please you. And if he chooses anything with elderflower or green tea, he's gay.
