Just joined the interesting world of internet dating and have found that at 49 with 2 kids aged 11 and 13 most men my age have grown up children (some have grand children!) and not too interested in taking on younger ones and that the majority of the over 40s are looking for women in their 30s or younger!! So basically thats me on the shelf Grin!! Not bothered just wanted to share - plus I like to meet my men in the flesh to see what I am getting Wink - its a strange world......

I think its because they know that older women will a) see through their BS ("MD of my own company" sorry mate, but a window cleaning round isnt quite the same is it?) and b) have a decent amount of self worth so wont put out of a Beefeater steak and a crappy bottle of red!

I am married but I love trawling dating sites (H knows I do this, I read them out to him!) its my second favourite to property porn! 60 year old man WLTM his soul mate, but she must be slim, good looking, intelligent, financially self supporting, no kids and aged between 25 and 35. Yeah, alright mate....good luck with that :o

Bogeyface · 11/01/2014 19:02

sorry "Wont put out AFTER a Beefeater etc"

I would love to C&P the best OD profiles I read:

balding, overweight 50something wanted: Kate Moss/Sienna Miller lookalike. Must look great in skinny jeans...

another who said he would: "buy you chocolate when you're pms-ing" arse.

and another who wanted someone with: Kelly Brook's body; and then, I don't know something like Jessica Biel's face; Cheryl Cole's hair; someone or other's legs... and then said "I might be a bit fussy, but I think it's important to have high standards"

Un-fucking-believable!

I did meet a nice guy though. I'm 39, he's mid-40s. He was looking for someone between 30 and 50. He's never been married and doesn't have kids, he knows I have (on both counts).

I've no idea where it's going, but it's nice and I'm happy with it.

I am in the 'all my children are over 18 age range' too!
What I don't like is 'Fazerboy6969 wants to meet you' 'Valleycommando6969 wants to meet you. Seriously how many 69's can there be on a dating website? Oh I checked their ages. None were born in 1969.

Jupiter change your username to "JupiterVanilla" and see how many messages you dont get :o

JupiterGentlefly · 11/01/2014 19:43

I also had one saying 'I like your profile, I am married so understand if you don't want to take it further' too fucking right. I am just not THAT desperate. I told him he should be ashamed of himself and suggested..relate..or a solicitor.

MadeMan · 11/01/2014 19:51

"Kate Moss/Sienna Miller lookalike."

Good god, no!

Suzi Perry, yes! Smile

FolkGirl · 11/01/2014 19:51

At least he was honest... I suppose... Confused

FolkGirl · 11/01/2014 19:52

I think I'm with you on that one MadeMan...
