No Christmas Invits this year!

Sorry if this is a bit long winded but here I go!
Despite asking my family around a couple of days before Christmas we haven't been invited to theirs. My sisters husband had a stroke in September and so I would understand it but my parents have been round twice, in the past two weeks. Am I being oversensitive?
My parents bought a dog, despite the fact that I'm allergic, and so we cant go to theirs. I'm starting to think we should try to do something different for Christmas but as we are 200 miles away from my husbands family and money is very tight we are stuck.
I just feel sad as I am always someone everyone else can turn to if they have a problem.
I just feel hard done by.

Did your parents not visit you then?

Sorry, it's my first post and I'm not being very clear. My sister hasn't got a dog, we've been to hers before but weren't invited this year. My parents have been to hers twice. I feel like my daughters are being left out of family life.

You couldn't arrange to meet on neutral territory . We often only see family once over Christmas Confused

JeanSeberg · 02/01/2014 18:47

So did you not see your parents or sister at all over Christmas?

Hassled · 02/01/2014 18:47

If your brother in law had a stroke recently, I can understand why they might feel able to host your parents but not a couple of children - it is different.

Agree it's too soon to be fretting now - just see how the year goes.
