Yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds but I am really struggling to come up with something to show my wife I care. I'm not going to buy a 3 for 2 from boots or chocolates or perfume. I wanted to get something that showed I had really put some thought into it.

I h planned to put some time aside to come up with something special. for various reasons I didn't and I have less than a week to find something. I'm not someone who leaves stuff like this to the last minute and now I am really finding it difficult to think objectively.

I'm not thinking about jewellery, or clothes, or a weekend away. I feel like anything I get now (and that is not thought out) will look like i've just grabbed something on Christmas eve...

Anyway, I'm grabbing at straws for inspiration, hence this post...

Hotel chocolat do a tasters club. A box of chocs delivered every month. Yum.

Some kind of experience day for the two of you?

A family photo shoot?

Not a time traveller then? (disappointed). Still sounds fantastic.

I don't live there, just like it.

Frohe Weihnachten!

What about a stocking fillled with her favourite things?

Or make your own vouchers to use throughout the year - a dinner together, day out so you wouldn't have to shell out right away.

Brilliant, thanks everyone. Some good ideas. I have a couple of things to think about as stocking fillers.

@savemefromrickets I particularly like the presents from around the world one (we've traveled a lot) and its a big birthday this year so I'm going to do that for then.

@dirtydancing, clearly you are psychic! Her sister has moved to Whitby and we've not been over yet. I would rather book in somewhere like the fishermens than staying with relatives so I think that is the winner. We get time away and we can meet up with the in laws.
