I have a night out - first one in ages. I've not thought about what I'm going to wear, I will be going with some real glam yummy mummies and it is so nice of them to invite me ..... But I really am struggling to drum up enthusiasm I'm not sure I want to go. I know I am pre-menstrual so feel really wacked. But mu husbands mum had a small stroke and is in hospital. DH has gone over to see her in hospital this afternoon and I'm sure he'll be back in time. But I am seriously considering having a quiet night with him as he's clearly upset. But I know he'll want me to go and for future relationships with other mummies.

Go for a bit and come home early is how I would play it. And just wear stuff you feel good in. Friends shouldn't give a shit what you wear...

You should go, your hubby will manage without you for a few hours, you mention how happy you are to have been invited so prove that, by going!

You probably don't want to dress up more than they do, anyway. ;)

I'd also suggest to go and return a bit earlier. If you explain your DH is a bit low they will understand. And I'm sure he'll be happy both to have some quiet time alone (most men do, actually, and I would too) and that you went home a bit earlier to be with him.
