Seriously out of touch with dating!

After years of unhappiness and having emotionally left my controlling DH a long time ago, I finally got the courage to leave a few months ago.
I've had quite a bit of interest (yay!) and have met someone I like. But, after 14 years with DH, I am really out of touch and I'm not sure I trust my instincts.
I went for a drink with this guy last weekend. We chatted for hours and hours, had a bit of a kiss and he suggested another night out. We've exchanged some messages since and I saw him very briefly at work. But, he hasn't suggested moving things forward. Do I just trust he meant it, or would he have suggested a date by now.
Hoping it's not that he's "not that into me"!

If you've only left a 14 year marriage a few months ago are you ready to start dating yet?

TakeManhattan · 28/11/2013 22:22

Perhaps not. But, I'm looking for a fun, easy time - not a husband!

If it were me I would be assuming he would have asked by now. If he's suggested another date does that not count as him asking you out again?

he probably thought that he's already suggested another date and it's up to you to agree and let him know? how exactly did he suggest - was it a vague 'let''s arrrange something later', or 'I'd definitely want to see you again, whenever you are free next'?

I would say "let me know when you want to meet again and I'll see if I'm free".

And I'd also guard your heart, OP.

I came out of a 14 year relationship, and the last year of my life has been learning (the hard way!) about dating again. At times its horrendous, at times its full of joy... needless to say I've not yet found the one. I don't know if I ever will.

With this dude, either bite the bullet or bail. Ask him straight up - so this 2nd date you mentioned - i'm free on so-and-so, you?

If he isnt "that into you" he'll make excuses and not suggest an alternative. If he's decent and likes you he'll be delighted and away you'll go!

Good luck :)
