To finally be able to my children things!!

I was in denial for so long. Believing he wasnt stopping me, but he was.
Especially my 5yo because he felt he got too much off his dad.
I used to tell him that what his dad buys him is irrevelevant, i buy him just as i would my other dc. But he always made me feel like i was throwing money away. For any of my dc come the endnof things.

I think ive gone a bit overboard with the spending.
But it feeeeeeels sooooooo goooood!
The faces on my kids this morning when new shoes arrived for them. Ones they actually wanted, rather than kind he found appropriate.

I have ordered everything i wanted to get them for christmas - which is what they wanted. He never would have allowed it!

FREEDOM! HAPPINESS! AWESOMENESS! WOOHOO!

a lil bit over excited Grin

I understand - split with o/h nearly a year ago.

Been saving all year for christmas and have had a wonderful time buying for my kids and family. No debts - no credit card. But presents bought and given with love and no stress - blissful :)

yay - good for you.

I have a much lower income single but we do somehow seem to have a nicer lifestyle as I choose to spend lots on the boys activities.

It is amazing really, how you end up better off in every single way!

I no longer need to have money coming out for car insurance, for the car and for his cannabis. Im also saving on cigs too as im barely even smoking now Smile
But..im spending more on shopping! He wouldnt let me spend much. 50-60 for a family of 6...then he would have a go at me for there not being much food.
To think of how much was actually wasted on him!
