Hya. Nc for this post. I am in an abusive relationship. I am thinking of escaping to the Isle of Mann with the kids...but need to know the ferry charge from Liverpool?? I think that is my nearest port. Thank you.

Do you mean escape urgently or make a plan for in the next week or so?

LineRunner · 21/11/2013 22:05

The Steampacket ferry website seems to be saying about 17 / 18 quid pp to get there from Liverpool btw. Google Isle of Man Steampacket.

If you wanted to NC for security reasons you should probably get your post deleted in case your oh sees it. I don't know how big IoM but as you're going there to 'escape' making it public knowledge seems a little foolish.

I'm sure there are more subtle ways to find out what you need to know than posting on a public forum.

TwoSteps I am not sure that calling the poster foolish and generally giving off a scolding sort of a vibe will be helpful to the OP at this moment when she is probably here looking for support.

OP, do you have any plans in place?

Bollockeyes · 22/11/2013 00:51

Hya sorry. I was pursuading oh that all was well. I have a plan to catch a taxi to the train station tomorrow, if i?m able to get safely. I'm sorry for not answering sooner.

If the person you are escaping is violent towards you then do put in a provisional call to the police on their 101 non-emergency number, tell them your plans, and then they can respond quickly if anything goes wrong and you are prevented from leaving. You could also talk to Womens Aid 0808 2000 247. They are very good at helping women exit abusive relationships safely and will have a lot of practical advice. Good luck
