My mother passed away earlier this year. I was very lucky knowing that her death was imminent so I had time to say good bye and get used to the idea but I still feel that there are more things I wanted to say.

I would love to publish (probably self publish) a compilation of "Thank You Mum" stories. I would like to donate the proceeds to a cancer charity. The project is still very much in its infancy so no charity has come on board yet.

If you have time and you would like to contribute, please email your stories to [email protected].

My mum taught me so much, she taught me to budget, to manage my money, to read the clock. She encouraged me to achieve my dreams, to follow my heart and always to push myself that little bit. She pestered me into hand writing thank you letters, something I pester my own child to do. The list goes on and on but as times goes on, I'll give it some structure.

Any feedback on this project would really be appreciated.

Aw what a wonderful idea. I lost my mum 18 years ago and I've been really feeling it at the moment.

I would happily contribute something. I'd suggest you give a word limit to contributors!

You could post in bloggers section too. Lots of them love writing!

that's a good idea. You could ask contributors to write in letter form, as if they were writing a thank-you letter to their mum, rather than just telling a story about her. It would make it more personal. Just an idea.
