Giving out phone numbers

Ive just joined an online dating site and got talking to a bloke last night, this morning he sent a message asking for my number and says he wants to take me out for a meal.

I like these things to go slowly so is it 'daft' of me to send a message back giving him my msn address and saying I will give him my number soon?

Never done this before so would love some advice!

Personally, I wouldn't give out a phone number so quickly to a stranger. Keep talking online a bit longer, I think.

Do what you feel comfortable with. You are clearly not comfortable giving him your number, so don't. If he is a decent bloke he will accept that.

go with your instincts. Personally I wouldn't give out my number this quickly either but you have to do what you feel comfortable with. Why not give him your msn address and chat for a bit, after all, msn contacts can be blocked/deleted in the event things don't work out. And when giving a number, give him your mobile number to start with - mobiles can be switched off if you don't want to talk.

I never give anyone my land line number. Unless I know them well and trust them.

Give him your msn, but dnt trust him, dont believe a word he says and dont open yourself up to him for a good while yet.

Give him the number of someone you don't like.
