MIl is having an affair I am 80% sure.

SHe has got Dh to get them a new Pc and I think is lining up some LURV e mailing from it.

She was on the phone to him organising him installing all the software and asked him to put in a "seceret word" (she's not very tech) so That she didnt have to "Go through all her dh's emails"
Yeah right.
She is unaware that windows xp has difernt accounts so this wont be necessary....

ANYWAY, dh was retelling me all this with a wry smile on his face when I said "Well, did you revela that you are actually the Webmaster of our shared domain name"?

No he didnt - so he can hack into all her e mails!

BUt will we?

Yes you will. And share all here with fellow mumsnetters ! Waiting with baited breath

bunny2 · 20/02/2004 20:42

I probably would even though I think it would be wrong. Impossible not to.

twiglett · 20/02/2004 20:42

message withdrawn

suzywong · 20/02/2004 20:43

No
Why would he want to catch his own mother getting down and dirty in the cyber world?
Probably worse than walking in on her in the act.

LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 20:43

Ps dh was on a twirly chair wth a white long haired cat at the time

snigger

OP posts:
LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 20:44

Yes but I may do and give him a censored view. SHe is 58 folks!

OP posts:
suzywong · 20/02/2004 20:47

Will you bust her and force her to come clean?

ponygirl · 20/02/2004 20:50

Well, my mum's 61 and she's having a secret fling with someone 10 years younger than her, and is being quite coy about it. She is single btw but I'm the only family person that knows - she reckons my db couldn't cope with the info.

And yes, Lady Codworth, please look - I certainly would!

bunny2 · 20/02/2004 20:50

Glad it is still possible at 58

LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 20:51

No she would deny it and dh and I agre that maybe he knows? Or we conat cope with two lots of Phone calls to them when they are seperated.

None of our business but she is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo blatant

OP posts:
suzywong · 20/02/2004 20:51

For example?

LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 20:53

Lol am sniggerin here as it is so cliched.

new pants

sudden (dramatic) rise in texts

referrals to My colleague

lots of courses and going away by herself (yeah!)
scuttling off to take phone calls in dsses bedroom ater two rings on a phone

oh god its awful

and i read her text message,
sounds awful but here was a context

suzywong · 20/02/2004 20:55

Do you blame her, I mean apart from the morality issue, what's her DH like, is he a dullard or a neglecter?

SoupDragon · 20/02/2004 20:58

If she was having an affair she would have bought new knickers, not new pants. Pants are what you have in a boring old marriage

LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 20:58

a little "steady" But I really like him. I can see why he isnt very exciting but there you a re - thats no excuse,

OP posts:
LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 20:59

of course, why did they invent locks for diaries? And not for non techie grannies!
My mum got me to set up her hotmail account b4 she went to China, I regularly read her slagging me off to all and sundry
You only ever find out what you do not want to know

LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 21:06

OP posts:
LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 21:07

with three only grandsons...

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 20/02/2004 21:16

Isn't it much more fun to only suspect an affair though? There's greater entertainment to be had looking for little slip ups than reading all the gory details in her emails.

Just like how I have a lot of fun trying to guess my christmas/birthday presents but would be upset to actually find out for sure before the day

LadyCodworth · 20/02/2004 22:04

very good point soupy.will sleep on that one
