No personal experience but my 54year old aunt had 3 dates in one weekend through dating direct.

I think it's well worth a try and I'm trying to persuade one of my single friends to give it a go as she always complains that she never meets people.

I met my wonderful dh through it on datingdirect.com. Its a good site because lots of photos - wouldn't bother dating anyone without one. My tips are go with your gut instinct for safety and taste reasons, don't start up a long email/phone correspondance meet them quickly as some relationship scared blokes use phone/email as delaying tactic.Arrange a short date, drinks or lunch so that if they aren't your cup of tea then you haven't wasted too much time.
The other guys I met were all fine, just not for me. Hope it all goes well for you.

i was on aol for years and they have a member directory its not dating as such.
basically you create a profile for yourself and you also can browse other peoples profiles and message them or email them.
this was how i met my dp we chatted for months online and eventually met up and went for drinks in a safe busy area(just to be on the safe side he could have been a raving lunatic)
and we have been together for 5 very happy years.
