A few weeks ago me and DP were at a car show and we bumped into one of his mates from work. Its the first time any of his mates have seen me.

Anyway DP was in a right mood the other day and when I got on at him he said his 'mate' had told the other lads at work that he reckoned I was an escort! .

I got mad and DP said it was an insult at him (i.e. they supposedly said that the only way a bloke like him could get a lass like me was by paying for it) and I should think of it as a compliment!

Should I? I'm fuming.

I kind of think its quite a nice thought. In their ignorance I think they are thinking that you are soooo gorgeous NONE of them would have had a chance with you . I'd take it very lightly, these people are nothing to either of you and its best to rise above it all.

I'd be mightily p*ssed off myself. Mind you, I look more like a ford escort!

On the bright side, you could always earn an extra few bob going to swanky parties with old blokes (strictly no "personal services")

It's not exactly the most graceful compliment you will ever receive, I don't think, but it is not meant to be derogatory towards you as far as I can see.

The term escort and prostitute tend to be used as totally different things. I would say that escort implies someone a bit out of reach, a bit gorgeous and a bit expensive. I'd take it as a compliment, but I see where you are coming from.
