DO NOT SAY FUCK BASTARD or any other swear word in front of dd!!!!!!!!!!! dh doesn't use these words in every other sentence i should add but as its world cup and he is very passionate about football (no excuse i know) his language has been choice, dd is one soon and i'm really worried that her first clear word is going to be fuck and dh brushes it aside sometimes saying oh she didn't hear it. I know that little children love to copy which she has started to do soooooo how to stop him swearing (apart from wacking him on the ear)

Just whack him on the ear, no other forms of communication will get through the football bubble. Its like a vacum. Nobody can hear you scream in space or in a living room with the world cup on the telly .

catsmother · 26/06/2006 11:38

Gag him when football is on ? ......

"Mmmmmmmm, uggghhhh, err-err err"

fattiemumma · 26/06/2006 11:40

tell him every time he swears you'll switch the TV off for 2 minutes.

or just whack in him the ear!

HappyDaddy · 26/06/2006 12:32

I swear like a trooper and have had some difficulty reigning it in. DW shouts "OI! I'll blame you when dd tells her teacher to eff off". I'm much better now, you understand.

CountessDracula · 26/06/2006 12:34

Oh I think this every morning when dh has not used the anal little window scrapy thing I have bought to stop the limescale building up on the glass shower screen.

foxinsocks · 26/06/2006 12:38

lol

you see had it been you that was swearing, you would have immediately altered your behaviour and there would be no problem

I'm beginning to think men are born with a gene that prohibits them from ever altering their behaviour, especially if it is something really annoying

I've got one of those too, CD (the anal scrapy thing, as well as the DH who doesn't use it). Sorry, theladyvanishes, no suggestion here. Have only just managed to get DS (2.5) to stop saying 'for God's sake' occasionally.

CountessDracula · 26/06/2006 12:42

I have to point out here that it is the window, not the anus, that is scraped.

themoon66 · 26/06/2006 12:46

DD (aged 3 at the time) said very loudly in Pizza Hut when DH spilled his coke.. 'Oooh silly bugger daddy'!

welshmum · 26/06/2006 12:47

Some men could use the other though

themoon66 · 26/06/2006 12:47

Oh dear. am probably gonna get a telling off now from someone about eating in Pizza Hut . Its only on high days and holidays.... honest.

I had to seriously adjust my language when I had an incident in Waitrose with my dd when she was about 2

At the time there was a Waitrose and a Safeway next door to each other.

DD was going through a phase of wanting me to hand the shopping to her then she would put it in the trolley. Towards the end I realised we were running out of time, I grabbed a tin of tuna from a man who was stacking the shelves and lobbed it in the trolley. DD said "NOOO mummy give me the tuna" so i said "no darling, we're in a hurry now". She then said "GIVE ME THE FUCKING TUNA" I hastily blustered "goodness me, we don't talk like that in Waitrose" and the shelf stacking man immediately said "NO if you want to talk like that, go next door to Safeway"

what a star he was!

WideWebWitch · 26/06/2006 12:57
