Fairly new to OD and thinking of signing up for this site. I'm over 50.

What do you think?

Hi Elsie I'm just over the 50 mark and I joined OKC a while back……….

and nothing! I can't say what it was I didn't like about using it, it certainly wasn't all about a lack of interest but more about the kind of bloke who seemed to be on it. Essays (very long ones) all about me, me, me and how great/artistic/adventurous/talented I am (the chaps I mean).

Meh. It put me off. But, give it a try!!! Eharmony was also a big failure. I wouldn't even go there if I was you.

Oh, and CheekyFifty. Just don't. Smile

Recommend plenty of fish instead of OKcupid. Quality of men drastically improved when I switched.

I met my now DH on OKC back in 2006 when I was very early 30's. There seemed to be a lot more young casual 20s on there (is it still free?) than older people. I ended up meeting up with about 6 people off that site though and only 2 were "a bit odd".

I agree with Wisey ( and am in a similar age bracket).. OK cupid seems full of opinionated, grandiose, and quite often, weird men! As free sites go, I prefer Pof-more user friendly and more choice of suitable men.Obviously you have to beware the unsuitables, but that's the same with all dating sites.Good luck!
