This is not about me. A friend lives with her dp and two dcs he is ea financially abusive and I suspect dv. She has had enough he wont accept it. They live in council accommodation. She is now looking to leave but why should she give up that security for private rent when he actually has somewhere else to go! She said she cant force him out as his name is on tenancy surely that cant be right?? Who should I direct her to?

Women's aid?

LEMisdisappointed · 13/09/2013 09:29

I thought that but wont they just help her leave? Not sure she is in immediate danger of dv. I want her to be able to stay in her house

Women's Aid will help her to get an occupation order, which tells him he has to leave and probably a non molestation order too.
